As rumours continue to swirl about his potential comeback, we’ve made a list of everything we want to see him do. And we’re sure if even some of them happen, a return for Kev could be one of the greatest things Emmerdale has ever done! Kev persuaded John to let him go in Emmerdale (Credit: ITV) Kev exits Emmerdale Kev left the Dales last December after being rejected by Robert. He then returned at Christmas and started terrorising Robert and Aaron. However, it wasn’t long before Kev was caught by Aaron’s psycho ex, John Sugden. John planned to frame Kev for killing Robert and then swoop in and save Aaron from his grief thereby living happily ever after. Only Kev was smarter than John gave him credit for. He managed to persuade John to let him go free so he could take Robert abroad leaving Aaron free for John. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers When John untied him, Kev laughed in his face and beat him up for good measure. He warned Aaron what was going on and then decided to pay a visit to his son, Lewis Barton. Only Lewis doesn’t know Kev is his dad. Nicola King does and she told Kev he must never tell Lewis. She begged him to either stick around and be a proper dad to him or leave forever never revealing the truth. Kev choose the latter. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Chris Coghill (@official_chriscoghill) Chris Coghill speaks out Despite the storyline being left hanging, Kev actor Chris Coghill posted his final scene to his Instagram account. He wrote: “Right. In a bit Emmerdale. Been an absolute joy. Thanks for all the love for Kev.” That seemed like his goodbye and fans were instantly begging him to come back. Even co-star Danny Miller claimed he was going to “start a petition”. But with Lewis still in the village and crying out for a strong storyline, rumours that Kev will be back just won’t go away. A Reddit thread has even reported that Bradley Riches hinted at Kev’s return too. Potential return stories for Kev in Emmerdale It’s a definite yes from us if it’s true and here’s what we’d like to see happen. Lewis and Kev have a chance at a great relationship (Credit: ITV) 1. The father/son dynamic There was clearly something lovely building between Lewis and Kev, even without Lewis realising Kev was his biological dad. A relationship with Lewis is top of our wish list. The awkwardness of Kev trying to be a dad would be comedy gold! And Emmerdale definitely needs something light-hearted right now. One fan has suggested they simply go fishing together – because Kev thinks that’s what fathers and sons do. Another said: “Maybe even a karaoke duo!” There have been some pretty awkward moments with the boys (Credit: ITV) 2. Crashing Robron’s wedding – to apologise! Kev was a man deeply in love with Robert Sugden when he arrived in town. Yes, he had done some very bad things: turned that love into manipulation and control and fear, but we reckon some time away, a bit of counselling and Kev could come back a changed man (not too changed, mind!) What perfect timing if he arrived to crash Robert and Aaron’s wedding, but actually only to apologise and give them his blessing? Then they could all move on and be happy – something else Emmerdale desperately needs. Graham needs a foe (Credit: ITV) 3. Take on Graham One thing fans seem desperate to see is for Kev to take on Graham Foster. “I would like to see Kev fight Graham to see who is the top dog in the village,” shared one fan. Another agreed: “I’d love to see that interaction.” And what better way to make it up to Robert and Aaron by helping with this mess the Sugdens have got themselves into with the Tates? Joe and Graham might have money and be the kings of manipulation, but Kev is, well, he’s Kev! Take him on at your own peril! It’s definitely over for Kev and Robert (Credit: ITV) 4. A new romance for Kev in Emmerdale Moving on from Robert will be tough, but Kev dating would make great television! Given Robert was his first gay relationship, it seems likely Kev is bisexual so that leaves plenty of options for him to choose from. Someone suggested: “[He could date] random people he meets from apps with Lewis helping him set up a dating profile.” Another added: “I think a new character. I was imagining a very straight-laced by the book cop because that would be funny.” Kev baked Claudette a cake! (Credit: ITV) 5. A Claudette and Kev comedy duo in Emmerdale Kev and Claudette had the potential to be comedy gold. The ex-con who bakes her lemon drizzle cake and the god-fearing old lady charmed by him.
