“Kev has a strong connection to one of our characters and it’s safe to say his arrival is going to be a massive surprise that will have major repercussions for some of our villagers.”

Chris added: “I am really happy to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. Kev is definitely going to shake things up a bit and I’m looking forward to getting cracking!”

So who is Kev in Emmerdale?

1. Former prison mate of Robert Sugden

Many think it’s Robert Sugden he is after. We know Robert is suffering with PTSD after his time in prison, so what if his former cellmate rocks up in town?

Fans quickly took to social media to commemt: “Robert’s prison mate,” and “bet he knows Robert from prison.”

One more added: “Guessing he was who tortured Robert in prison…”

2. To bring John Sugden down…

A very popular theory is that he’s here to put the final nail in the coffin of John Sugden.

“Hope he’s looking for John,” pleaded one. Another added: “I hope he knows John and what he did in the past and is here to expose him, not sure I can take another six months of John getting away with it all.”

“Maybe he’s a relation of Owen and wants answers?” queried a third.

A fourth said: This is really intriguing. I wonder if he could be another person from John’s past?”

3. Does Kev have a connection to Dylan in Emmerdale?

Spoilers for next week show us April’s friend from the streets, Dylan, is back in town. And he’s up to no good. Despite being clean, he is first seen breaking into Moira’s barn and then he spots drug dealer Ray and flees. All sounds very dodgy to us.

And when Dylan’s return was announced, show boss Laura Shaw revealed he wouldn’t be alone.

“He’s going to be bringing his past back to the village with him and that’s going to cause a few problems for April and the wider family,” she said, adding: “We’ve got a couple of exciting new castings joining us for that story.”

So fans have joined the dots and thinks that’s exactly where Kev will fit in.

“He might be part of County Lines Storyline involving April and Dylan,” mused one. Another added: “Am I the only one thinking he has something in relation to Dylan?”
