A multi-car pile up on a road between Hotten and Weatherfield leaves lives hanging in the balance, and some won’t live to tell the tale. So strap in and prepare yourselves for a wild ride. Love rat Carl Webster is on the ropes as his double life implodes. In a drunken and desperate state, he speeds away from Weatherfield, with Debbie in the car. Bent copper Becky Swain is also fleeing her past and has Lisa and Betsy in the car with her. But as events spiral, Becky loses control of her vehicle, triggering a huge smash with oncoming traffic. Just behind them is a minibus, carrying wedding guests. Billy Mayhew is behind the wheel, transporting David Platt, his pregnant wife Shona, Steve McDonald and Tracy Barlow. Aaron Dingle finds himself held at gunpoint after his crazy killer ex John Sugden enacts his revenge. But not far behind is Robert Sugden, who’s prepared to risk it all to save the man he loves. As the love triangle culminates in chaos, Weatherfield copper Kit Green, along with Carla Connor arrive to save lives and pursue fugitives. Also on the road are Cain and Moira Dingle. The couple are taking newlyweds Jacob and Sarah Gallagher to the airport when they’re blinded by Mackenzie Boyd’s car lights. Mack has wife Charity Dingle in the passenger seat, and is hellbent on letting Sarah know about her baby lie. He reaches out to a shaken Asha Alahan, who’s also been caught up in the crash. Meanwhile, trainee doctor Jacob rushes towards the scene of the carnage and tends to an injured David and Shona. In the queue of traffic, a mysterious van pulls up. Inside is a terrified young woman called Jodie, who’s been bound and gagged. But who is she? And who is holding her hostage? Charity tries to support distressed Shona (Credit: ITV) The episode ends at Hotten General, as the injured are rushed to hospital. Charity and Shona both fear for the safety of their unborn babies. Will they survive? Fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, secrets and lies are all in the air. Who lives and who dies remains to be seen, but things will never be the same again.
