With Celia and Ray showing no mercy for their prisoner, Bear vows to look after Anya. But is time running out for her? Bear pleads with Ray to help sick Anya (Credit: ITV) Bear and Anya are being held captive in Emmerdale spoilers Fans are still reeling from the shocking revelation that Bear has become a victim of modern slavery. Paddy’s dad left the village back in July, saying he was off to visit his friend Gnasher in Ireland. But he never made the journey and instead started living rough out of his hire care. A special flashback episode showed how the vulnerable OAP fell victim to Celia and Ray. After discovering him in a layby, Ray offered Bear “work” in exchange for shelter, which he gratefully accepted. But as his boss’s true motives became clear, Bear found himself trapped. Anya has also fallen victim to the villainous duo. When viewers were first introduced to the young stowaway it wasn’t clear what – or who – she was running from. But now we know. Anya has been trafficked into the country as part of Celia and Ray’s latest operation. She tried to escape, but Ray caught up with Anya in Manchester. During her capture, Anya sustained a nasty injury to her leg, which has become infected. Next week, she remains trapped inside the barn with Bear, and her health is starting to spiral. Bear anxiously tends to Anya and is worried by her fever. Recognising the poor girl needs medical help, Bear asks Ray to help. He’s gruff in his response and orders Bear back to work, but promises he’ll fix Anya up with some antibiotics. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Ray has caught feelings for Laurel (Credit: ITV) Ray turns the charm on Laurel Unlike his malevolent mum, Ray actually does have feelings. And his attraction towards Laurel is continuing to grow. After sneaking off on the pretense of doing a job, Ray heads over to see Laurel at Mulberry. The pair enjoy a bit of flirty chat in the kitchen, until Celia rings summoning Ray back. Returning to the farm, Ray is shocked to see how much Anya is deteriorating. And his conscience further kicks in when he learns his prisoner has a young daughter. Knowing the risks if he allowed Anya to seek medical help, Ray insists she’s got to stay put. However, he allows Bear to stay with her as she starts to drift in and out of consciousness.
