As the teen faces tough questions from the police, Celia warns Ray that April’s life depends on the outcome of the police’s inquiries. The trauma of ‘killing’ client Callum (who’s actually alive – but that’s another story) almost made April confess to Marlon. But she chose to remain silent after envisioning a terrifying scenario where Ray shot her dad dead in order to protect his secret. April has agreed to carry on working for Ray and his malevolent mum. But their empire could be at risk when April gets arrested by the police. Next week begins with the teen sitting in the police interview room, where she makes a call to someone asking for help. That person is her grandad Bob, who soon arrives at the station to offer his support. April is adamant the police have made a mistake. But will Bob believe her? While he frets, back at the station his girlfriend is being grilled about the drugs found in her possession. April won’t be drawn into the conversation and stonewalls the officer’s questions. But when DS Clarke asks if she’s fallen victim to exploitation, the look on April’s face suddenly shifts. Although April doesn’t admit the truth, Bob clocks his granddaughter’s vulnerable state and knows something is very wrong. He tries to get her to open up, but April warns she’ll never speak to him again if he breathes a word about her arrest to Marlon. The pair then return home to the village, where April finds Celia and Ray waiting for her. Bob admits he feels duty-bound to tell Marlon the truth, but cunning Celia assures him April’s arrest is a minor offence. Still Bob wants to speak to Marlon, and Celia is forced to hide her panic.
