Emmerdale spoilers for next week: John frames Owen for Nate's murder but Robert suspects foul play

John thinks he’s got away with murder in next week Emmerdale spoilers after he frames Owen for Nate’s death. But as new information reaches Robert, his suspicions about his brother are piqued and he decides to go to the police.

John puts his deadly plan into action in Emmerdale spoilers

John has been carrying the secret of Nate’s murder for months, and the guilt is starting to destroy him. The killer came close to cracking when he had to stand and deliver a eulogy at Nate’s funeral.

But then John spied an opportunity to get himself off the hook when Robert’s attacker Owen arrived at the surgery for an appointment. John recognised at once this was the same man who drugged Robert, and hatched a dastardly plan.

As the week begins, Dr Liam arrives at Owen’s home and discovers his patient unresponsive. He makes a call to the police, who quickly arrive on the scene and confirm that Owen has passed away. It looks as though he’s taken his own life, but of course that’s not the case.

DS Walsh shows Liam a typed note on Owen’s laptop, confessing to Nate’s murder. John appears to have pulled it off as the police reckon they’ve finally found their man. But will everyone else be as easily fooled?

Robert smells a rat over Owen’s death

Later DS Walsh arrives in the village to break the news to Cain and Tracy. She informs them about Owen’s death, explaining they found what appears to be a suicide note, confessing to Nate’s killing. Having never heard of Owen, Tracy and Cain struggle to process the news and understand his motives for the crime.

Meanwhile, John feigns surprise when Liam informs him about Owen’s death and confession. Later, the pair inform the locals that Nate’s murderer appears to be have found.

Robert is deeply shaken to hear of Owen’s passing, but can’t help feeling it’s all too much of a coincidence. Remembering the violent brawl between John and Owen, Robert questions if this is all some huge cover up on John’s part.

But can he prove it?

Emmerdale spoilers: Robert vows to expose John

The next day, DC Cole arrives at the Brook Cottage Surgery wanting more information on Owen’s medical history. Robert sees the police leaving and is intrigued to know what’s going on.

The plot thickens when Claudette lets slip that John paid a visit to Owen’s house shortly before he killed himself. This is valuable information and Robert feels as if he’s onto something. Needing more evidence, Robert makes contact with Owen’s brother Steve. The pair meet up and Robert is stunned when Steve reveals Owen had a rock solid alibi for the day Nate was murdered.

This is all the proof that Robert needs to know that Owen didn’t do it. He heads straight to the police station and informs the officers he has new information about Nate’s murder.

Will Robert put John’s name in the frame? And could this be the beginning of the end for the serial killer?
