Still haunted by his attack, Paddy refuses to treat the animal and decides to close the vets. Could his career be over? Paddy’s attack has left him afraid of dogs (Credit: ITV) Paddy is fighting his fears in Emmerdale spoilers The past few weeks have not been kind to poor Paddy. His relationship with Bear is in tatters as a result of his father’s unkind behaviour. Paddy tried very hard to understand what was going on with his dad, but his efforts were met with angry responses. Now Bear has gone AWOL, leaving Paddy to fear they’ll never get things back on track. On top of all this upset, Paddy is dealing with the trauma of his recent dog attack. The out-of-control animal mauled his arm while he was trying to a rescue a sheep on new famer Celia‘s land. Paddy needed hospital treatment, and as a result he’s been left with a crippling fear of canines. Paddy has been determined to put a brave face on it all and carry on with business as usual. But an upsetting incident soon makes him realise he’s far from okay. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Paddy is scared by a lively dog (Credit: ITV) Paddy is forced to close the vets As he prepares for a day at the vets alone, Paddy is careful not to let Mandy see how scared he is. Things start off well and Paddy is buoyed by how well he’s able to cope by himself. But his happy mood doesn’t last long when a customer arrives to see him with a lively dog. Fearing history might be able to repeat itself, Paddy is totally gripped by panic. He finds himself unable to treat the animal and is forced to shut up the surgery early. Bear can’t find the courage to contact Paddy (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale spoilers: Bear refuses to reach out to Paddy Next morning, Paddy throws a sickie to avoid going back into work. Mandy can sense something is really bothering her husband, and after a little gentle persuasion, Paddy starts opening up to her about his newfound fear of dogs. Afterwards, Mandy realises Paddy needs some help if he’s to overcome his phobia. But will a meeting with Vinny’s friendly pooch Chip be enough to make him trust dogs again? Meanwhile, Bear’s whereabouts are finally revealed as the troubled OAP is seen out with his car on a country road. But it seems that Bear is still a long way from being able to reach out to his son. Can he find the courage to let Paddy know what’s wrong?
