1. Tracy left devastated in Emmerdale spoilers

We discovered last night (Wednesday June 4) that the body in the lake was not Anthony. It took some doing, but Joe Tate managed to forge a passport and get someone he knows in Spain to pretend to be Anthony to get Ruby out of custody after her murder confession. Phew.

With the Dingles and Miligans sure they are now free and facing a much less stressful future, another bombshell is about to strike.

At the end of last night, the police turned up on Tracy’s doorstep. Tonight they deliver the news to her that the body they have discovered is that of Nate Robinson, Tracy’s husband. Stunned and shocked, thinking he’d just abandoned his family, Tracy can’t take it in. How will she break the news to Frankie of her dad’s death?

2. Cain under suspicion as he’s questioned by the police

At the farm, Cain and Moira are shocked to hear that the body in the lake belongs to his son. DC Cole tells the blindsided pair that the body is so decomposed that he can’t even visit Nate.

Full of guilt, Cain experiences flashbacks to his last interaction with Nate – seeing himself beating up his son on the day he disappeared. However, he hides this information from the police.

As Tracy fills the police in on Nate’s last few days in the village, it’s not long before Cain is in the frame for his murder. Hauled down the police station to answer questions over his fight with Nate, Cain’s temper soon boils over.

Back in the village, even Chas begins to wonder whether Cain could have been responsible. And, as Cain offers his support to Tracy, she begins to wonder whether he could have killed Nate – and voices her concerns to Tracy.

Can Cain convince his family of his innocence?
