But the enormity of what he’s been asked to do is weighing heavily on Ray, who knows he must lure April to her death. As Wednesday’s episode begins, a flashforward sees an unidentified hand holding a knife in the woods. The blade is covered in blood, but who does it belong to? Ray is torn between Laurel and Celia As Ray prepares to enact his wicked plan, he’s blindsided when Laurel invites him to spend New Year’s Eve with her. When Ray reveals he’s leaving the village for good, upset Laurel asks if he’ll consider sticking around so they can give their romance a proper go. This leaves Ray torn – but will he choose duty over a happy future with Laurel? April comes to a chilling realisation (Credit: ITV) 3. April pleads for her life in Emmerdale spoilers It seems Ray has made his choice after he lures April out on a mission to “bury evidence” in the woods. The pair get to work digging a deep hole, but then April realises to her horror that’s her grave. In terror, she pleads for her life, begging Ray to spare her. Will he allow April to run? John won’t stop until Robert is dead (Credit: ITV) 4. John bides his time During an opening montage, a ticking bomb is seen underneath Robert’s car. And it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to work out who planted it there. Meanwhile, Kev remains tied up in the creepy country house. He knows that John is intending to blow Robert up and pleads with him not to go ahead. Kev wants assurance that Robert will be okay, but John coldly announces he’s just waiting for the right time to detonate the device. As far as he’s concerned, he won’t stop until Robert is dead. Charity faces a new threat in Emmerdale spoilers Feeling bad about Sarah and Jacob’s wedding being sabotaged by Pollard and Kerry, Charity wants to give the couple a second chance. She asks Pollard to call in a favour with his old council contacts and allow Sarah and Jacob to get married tomorrow. Pollard then puts the plan into action. Everything is going well, until Charity has another run-in with Vanessa. Things get heated between the exes as Vanessa attacks Charity over her lies. As the celebrations for New Year’s Eve get underway in The Woolpack, Pollard tells Charity everything is set for tomorrow’s nuptials.
