Ben Shephard apologises to Masked Singer fans as Cat Deeley’s shock reaction to Conkers unmasking revealed
Ben came close to winning!The Masked Singer star Ben Shephard took to social media to apologise to fans last night (Saturday, February 14) following his shock unmasking.
The star finished as a runner-up in a surprise twist, having been a guest judge earlier in the series!

Last night saw Ben unveiled as Conkers!
The unmasking came as a huge shock, mainly due to the fact that Ben had been a guest judge on the show earlier in the series!
However, eagle-eyed viewers will have noticed that the week Ben was a guest judge, Conkers didn’t perform…
Ben gushed over his experience on the show after his unmasking.
“It’s an extraordinary experience. I felt like I’d won just being able to come on the show,” he said.
Fans were thrilled that it was the This Morning star under the mask. “So Conkers… was Ben Shephard after all!” one fan tweeted.
“I said Conkers was Ben Shephard from the very beginning, yay!” another wrote.
“Yep! I guessed Ben Shephard as Conkers!” a third said.
Ben Shephard apologises after The Masked Singer
The official Masked Singer Instagram account shared a video of Ben’s unmasking – and the This Morning star took the opportunity to apologise.
Taking to the comment section, he wrote: “For everyone whose songs I destroyed I’m so so sorry [laughing emojis].
“For everyone listened I’m even more apologetic.”
Continuing, he wrote: “For the amazing team who created Conkers you are the real stars – I can’t thank you enough he was very special.”
Cat Deeley’s reaction revealed
Celebs took to the comment section too to react to Ben’s unmasking.
This Morning co-star Cat Deeley admitted that she cried when Ben took off his mask!
“The costume ! I cried the first time I saw it !!!!!” she wrote.
“Fabulous!!!” Lorraine Kelly gushed.
“Still screaming. That was BRILLIANT,” TV presenter Gaby Roslin said.
“Brilliantly played Ben,” fellow Masked Singer star Ben Fogle added.
“KNEW IT!!!” Corrie’s Colson Smith exclaimed.
