Billy ‘reveals’ identity of attacker in Emmerdale’s ITVX release leaving Dawn shocked
Caleb was very keen for Billy to blame Joe*Warning, this article contains Emmerdale spoilers about Joe and Billy from tonight’s episode. The episode hasn’t aired on TV, but is available to watch on ITVX and YouTube.
Emmerdale has aired a surprising twist as Billy Fletcher woke up from his coma – but it’s brought bad news for Joe Tate.
Earlier in the week, Emmerdale aired a shock attack on Billy, as he was found in the depot unconscious. At the time, Billy had upset quite a few people with his actions.
But the one who got all the fingers pointed at him, was obviously Joe. He had just discovered Billy kissed Dawn, and had threatened to hurt him to Caleb and Kerry. However, Joe maintains his innocence, and has been adamant that when Billy wakes up, he can prove it.
Unfortunately for him, that wasn’t the case.

Caleb informs Billy of Joe’s behaviour leading to a shock revelation
Everyone has been eager for Billy to wake up from his coma, so that they can all work out what really happened to him. However, as Caleb is for some reason, desperate for Joe to get the blame of everything, he headed to see Billy.
When alone, Billy asked who attacked him. And that’s when Caleb realised that Billy couldn’t properly remember the attack. So, he used everything that had gone down with Joe to influence him.
Caleb informed Billy that Joe found out about their dodgy deals, and that he was threatening the company. So, in order to shut him up, he told him that Billy and Dawn kissed.
He also went even further to explain that Joe had gotten extremely angry, and started threatening to go after Billy once he discovered the truth. And when Billy asked if Joe was the one who attacked him, Caleb said he wouldn’t be surprised and that he was shocked that Dawn believed Joe.
Later, Billy and Joe were alone, and he took the opportunity to apologise for the kiss. But when Joe said he didn’t think it was a big deal as it was clearly a one-sided emotion, Billy was annoyed.
So, when Dawn headed back in to see him, Billy wasted no time in telling her that Joe was the one who put him in hospital. He told her: “I need you to wake up. It was Joe, I know it was.”

Things get even more complicated
While Dawn seemed extremely shocked by what Billy was telling her, that all changes next week. Emmerdale spoilers confirm Billy and Dawn create an escape plan to run away together.
Billy doubles down, adamant that Joe was the one who attacked him. Eventually, Dawn believes his side of the story. But after he sees how trapped Dawn feels, he suggests they run away together.
And with Joe’s stag do just days away, they have the perfect opportunity to do so without him knowing.
But with the recent Emmerdale trailer teasing a tragic outcome of the wedding, do their runaway plans get halted? And does Joe find out the truth?
