Billy wants to get away with Dawn
Carena Crawford

Billy Fletcher is absolutely adamant in Emmerdale that Joe Tate was the one who attacked him. Only we know it wasn’t Joe at all.

And now, so does Billy. But upcoming spoilers reveal he won’t tell the truth about what really happened. Instead he keeps quiet so he can get the girl.

However, tragedy and drama lies ahead and life will never be the same for Billy, Dawn, Joe or anyone in the village.

Billy found out who attacked him in Emmerdale tonight

Billy was recently found in the depot having been hit over the head with a crowbar. It was touch and go for a while as he was put into a coma.

He did survive and he named Joe Tate as his attacker. Dawn was horrified and immediately made plans to leave her fiancé meaning he’d never see his unborn child.

Caleb, who is desperate to see Joe suffer, agreed to help with passports and getting them out of the country for a new life.

Dawn, Billy and the kids were supposed to leave on Tuesday August 18, but Joe surprised Dawn with a sten do, so she was forced to stick around. Billy still wanted to go, but Dawn knew it wasn’t possible to get away and they’d have to rearrange everything.

Billy was forced to suck it up at the party. But as things continued on Wednesday August 19, he wasn’t prepared for Kev to gatecrash the bash. Drunk, Kev then confessed he was the one who had hit him over the head and apologised.

Billy was horrified and left totally unsure what to do with the information. Knowing Dawn is only leaving Joe because she thinks he attacked Billy, does he tell the truth, get Kev sent down and lose Dawn to Joe? Or does he keep quiet and get the girl?

The truth stays hidden in Emmerdale

When Billy finds out in Emmerdale tomorrow night that Ruby and Caleb were complicit in Kev’s actions, he is stunned. He wants the passports now so he and Dawn can go before the truth comes out.

But Caleb isn’t playing ball. He refuses to hand them over until the wedding day, so Joe can well and truly suffer as his big day will be ruined.

Next week things take a really dramatic turn when the wedding day arrives. Graham finds out Dawn and Billy are running off and confronts Dawn. He realises Joe’s supposed attack on Billy is the main catalyst in her leaving and questions how Billy would know for certain it was Joe if he was attacked from behind.

The question raises doubts for Dawn. However he doesn’t change her mind and she whacks him unconscious with a shovel.

Elsewhere, Caleb is full of glee as he hands over the passports and some money for a new life to Billy. But Billy feels sick being a pawn in Caleb’s game.

It’s not long before Caleb can’t keep quiet any longer and he reveals to Joe that Dawn and Billy have escaped together and he’s been jilted.

But have they really gone? We know the day ends in tragedy with consequences far reaching for almost all of the village.

Will Billy finally tell the truth? Will Dawn decide to stay and marry Joe? Or is their happy ever after just too far out of reach?
