It may not be as lively as the darts or as popular as snooker, but this is the biggest event in the bowls calendar.
Last year, Scotland’s Jason Banks pulled off a historic treble. He won the singles, men’s pairs and mixed pairs, an unprecedented feat in the sport.

Who won the bowls yesterday? Results for January 20
As the World Indoor Bowls Championship came down to the last 16, Les Gillet emerged victorious over Alex Marshall, beating him 2-0 (10-5, 11-7).
Elsewhere, Nick Brett enjoyed a narrower 2-1 win over Mark Daws (10-3, 4-9, 2-0), and Greg Harlow lost to Paul Foster, who started off with an emphatic 11-2 win in the first set before locking down the game with an 8-6 score.
In the final of the mixed pairs, England’s Jamie Walker and Northern Irelands’s Chloe Wilson beat Les Gillett and Emily Kernick in a tough 1.5-0.5 match-up.
