The World Indoor Bowls Championship 2026 continues today, with Jason Banks competing in the open singles quarter final – so, make sure you know what time it’s on, the schedule for January 22, and how to watch it.

It may not be as lively as the darts or as popular as snooker, but this is the biggest event in the bowls calendar.

Last year, Scotland’s Jason Banks pulled off a historic treble. He won the singles, men’s pairs and mixed pairs, an unprecedented feat in the sport.

So, can he beat Nick Brett to make it into the semi-final this time? Whatever happens, here’s what you should know.

What time is the bowls on today?

Coverage from the World Indoor Bowls Championship began at 10am today (January 23), with the final match of the day scheduled for 7:30pm.

You can watch the World Indoor Bowls Championship 2026 live on BBC Two or via BBC iPlayer.

The broadcaster kicked off its coverage of the event on January 19 – 10 days after it began on January 9. So, if you want to catch up with the tournament’s results so far, you’ll only be able to watch the past two days of bowls on iPlayer.

Who won the bowls yesterday? Results for January 22

Teeing up the open singles quarter-finals, Martin Puckett won 2-0 (11-5, 11-5) against Scott Walker.

It was a narrower victory for Stewart Anderson, who beat Tom Holmes 2-1 after a tight 9-4, 4-8, and 2-1 match. In the last open singles match of the day, Darren Burnett sealed another Scottish place in the quarters with a 2-1 (10-5, 7-9, 2-1) win over Jamie Walker.

Fans were treated to an exciting ladies’ matchplay final. Katherine Rednall ultimately won against Nicole Rogers, but both players delivered strong bowls, with the match ending 2-1 (7-12, 9-4, 2-0).
