Bradley Walsh reveals he's stepped back from Blankety Blank as he 'doesn't have time' for BBC quiz show
Bradley is a very busy manBradley Walsh has confirmed he will not return to host Blankety Blank this year, saying a packed schedule has made the quiz show impossible to fit in .
Bradley, 66, said his diary is bursting with Gladiators, the live Prat Pack show and other projects yet to be announced.
The star explained that he would usually move from The Prat Pack straight into Blankety Blank, but this year his schedule has changed.
Bradley Walsh rules out Blankety Blank return
Bradley made clear in an interview with Radio Times that the decision is down to scheduling rather than any lack of enthusiasm for the show.
He called Blankety Blank “one of my favourite shows” and said the studio experience had been “brilliant”.
But he added: “I’ve got other stuff which I can’t announce at the moment. We’re working on a couple of dramas and scripting, and I actually physically do not have the time.”
Bradley added that he would normally be in the Blankety Blank studio in October. But said he is already committed through October and November. He left the door open by adding: “Maybe next year.”
The BBC had no comment to make when contacted by TVGuide.
Bradley Walsh eyes up Death at the White Hart role
The update comes shortly after Bradley publicly put himself forward for a part in Chris Chibnall’s forthcoming ITV adaptation of Death at the White Hart.
At a Waterstones Piccadilly event earlier this month, he appeared alongside Chris, the Broadchurch creator and former Doctor Who showrunner, and asked about a role in the drama.
Bradley grilled his Law and Order pal “any chance of Bradley Walsh as Mel?”. Chris was said to have promised to consider the suggestion.
Death at the White Hart is based on Chris’ novel, which was published last year. The Dorset-set murder mystery follows Detective Nicola Bridge as she returns home after years away.
She then quickly becomes involved in the investigation into the death of a local publican.
Meanwhile, Bradley is currently on screen in The Chase Around the World. The international spin-off of the quiz format sees contestants track down Chasers in various cities across the globe.
The series continues on ITV and ITVX on Thursday July 30, 2026 at 9pm.
