Simon Cowell has confirmed that Britain’s Got Talent will be doing another champions series next year, to celebrate 20 years of the iconic ITV show.

Later this month, Britain’s Got Talent will be returning for its 19th series on ITV. However, Bruno Tonioli will not be returning as judge. Instead, he will be replaced by KSI, who was a guest judge repeatedly last year.

And now, Simon has revealed that they have no plans to stop the show, but actually want to keep expanding it. However, the news has been met with quite a lot of backlash.

Simon Cowell confirms all-star series

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Simon confirmed the huge news, explaining that it will be next year.

He told them: “The same judges will be back. We are doing a champions show next year as well, the best of the best, which is brilliant.

“You get the best contestants from all over the world and you re-compete in a big competition. I like those kind of things.”

While the show is still a year away, Simon already has his eye on getting the legendary Susan Boyle to return to the stage again.

When he was asked about her potential comeback, Simon responded: “She has to!”

The last series of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions took place in 2019, and it was won by Twist & Pulse.

So, it seems fans can get ready for two huge doses of Britain’s Got Talent next year. But not all of them are actually happy with that…

Fans are not happy with the news

After the news was revealed, fans took to social media to share their thoughts. And many actually appeared quite annoyed at the news.

One commented: “Nobody watched or cared the first time..”

Another penned: “Will they stop this show already? This is getting ridiculous.”

“We don’t care about this show. They need to axe it,” a third wrote.

One fan thinks the format could work, if there is a change to it next year. They commented: “I hope it is live this time. The fact it was pre-recorded was a joke.”

However one user was actually quite happy with the news. They commented: “Amazing news. I pray that The Blackouts are on there.”

It remains to be seen exactly what former contestants will come back to the show, but let’s hope for some icons!
