Everything you need to know about what happened at the end of the last series
Casualty returns for 2026 after a long break, and you doubtless need a full recap of what happened at the end of the last series Supply and Demand.
From that shocking Ngozi exit to Iain’s marriage bombshell, it was a dramatic one. Fear not, we’ll have you back in the know in minutes!
The last time we saw Casualty on BBC One was back in September, before the show took a break while Strictly Come Dancing aired in the show’s usual Saturday night slot.
As the new run, entitled Learning curve, kicks off let’s refresh our memories on the life-or-death drama from last series’ cliffhanger finale…

Casualty series 23 finale recap: Fears Ngozi would die after airport collapse
The final episode of the Casualty series, Supply and Demand, saw Nicole Piper (Sammy Dobson) rush to the airport to try and stop ex-lover Ngozi Okoye (Adesuwa Oni) from going to Nigeria. It was a race against time as she caught a lift to the airport with clinical lead Siobhan McKenzie (Melanie Hill). But disaster struck when they hit traffic, and Nicole had to dash the last bit of the journey on foot.
However, while she managed to get there before Ngozi and her son Obi (Aryel Tsotois) got on their flight, an even bigger horror was waiting. Nicole found Obi crying and being comforted by airport staff. It was only when she went into the ladies bathroom that she found Ngozi had collapsed.
Through a series of flashbacks, it showed Ngozi terrified of going back to Nigeria and drinking heavily at the airport. Despite her son’s pleas to stop, Ngozi drank too much. She ended up collapsing and covered in blood after hitting her head.
Ngozi arrived at Holby ED, her life hanging in the balance. Nicole and Obi were helpless as they watched the ED team fighting to save her, but viewers feared the worst when she began to arrest.
The episode ended with her fighting for her life, but did Ngozi die in resus?

Iain’s marriage bombshell to wife Faith
There was also huge drama for married medics, Iain (Michael Stevenson) and Faith Dean (Kirsty Mitchell).
Iain and Faith’s marriage was hanging by a thread as Iain found himself on his most frightening HART mission yet. Following the trauma of losing his mum, Iain threw himself into work – with devastating consequences.
Desperate to be the hero, Iain went against his boss’s orders to save the life of a baby during a raid on the home of a drug gang leader. However, the whole thing was a trap. Iain discovered that the crying baby was just a doll, and his boss ended up fighting for his life after a criminal slashed his throat.
Luckily, Iain’s quick thinking saved his colleague’s life. But that didn’t ease his guilt over making the wrong decision yet again.
His awful day hung over Iain, and he contemplated why he always needed to ‘save’ everyone. Iain then came to a shocking conclusion about his relationship with Faith, which would change everything.
In the closing scenes, paramedic Iain told Faith that he didn’t love her. He revealed he just wanted to save her, leaving the advanced clinical practitioner utterly heartbroken.

Flynn’s private trauma almost cost lives
Clinical lead Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) had been on a downward spiral as his home life fell apart. He was living alone and hadn’t seen his daughters in weeks. Instead of addressing his issues, Flynn was in a classic case of self-destructing – filling his empty void by sleeping around.
However, tragedy almost struck when a teenage girl was admitted to the ED with a head injury after falling over, drunk. Her mum came to find her in the hospital and took an instant shine to Flynn.
Flynn and his patient’s mum were soon getting to know one another better in the stock cupboard. Let’s just say there wasn’t much stocktaking being done!
But Flynn’s lothario ways almost cost a life when he missed a bleed on the teenager’s brain because he was too busy flirting. She soon started fitting, and things looked bad. Dylan Keogh (William Beck) fumed with Flynn and said he should be struck off.
Thankfully, the teen was okay, but this was one shock too far for Flynn, and he finally saw the error of his ways.
After speaking to his daughter on the phone, he turned down a trip to the pub in favour of going to his little girl’s dance recital. Finally, with Dylan’s help, Flynn vowed to turn his life around.

Casualty recap: What else happened in the Supply and Demand finale?
It wasn’t only Flynn who was facing a new beginning. There were also sparks flying between Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) and Indie Jankowski (Naomi Wakszlak).
Jan Jenning (Di Botcher) caught the pair flirting in the hospital shop, and it looked like romance was blossoming. Could the young pair be the next big love story as the new series launches?
