Celerity SAS: Who Dares Wins started on Channel 4 last night, and Ryan Moloney – who found fame as Toadfish in Neighbours – made quite the first impression…
Far from being the loveable character he is on screen, Ryan launched into an extraordinary rant during the opening episode (January 4). And his outburst caused one of his fellow competitors to declare: “Nice way to talk to everyone, isn’t it.”

After returning to their barracks at the end of a hard day, Ryan attempted to make sure the rest of the cast – which includes Dani Dyer – were prepared for any eventuality. As fans of the Channel 4 series know, the Directing Staff (DS) can appear at any time, and instruct the cast to head out onto parade.
“Can I suggest you take this time to fill up your water bottles, make sure your bags are all packed and it’s less stress for you if they call us,” Ryan said.
They were then called for a shock inspection. And, after discovering all the water bottles weren’t filled “to the brim”, the ones who failed the inspection had to tip the remaining water in their bottles over their head. They then had to run through a water tank, soaking their uniforms.
Ryan explodes
Back in the barracks, Ryan was less than impressed. He started shouting and swearing at his fellow competitors.
“Fill up your [bleep]ing water bottles first,” he shouted. “Use your cups to drink in here, so you’ve always got a full [bleep]ing bottle.”
“Feels like he’s another DS, doesn’t it,” whispered Gabby Allen, before she asked Ryan: “What’s your name again?”
“My name is [bleep]ing [bleep]ed off because I’ve now got two [bleep]ing wet things of clothes because people haven’t [bleep]ing filled up their water bottles. When all day, I’ve been saying to do it. So yeah, I’m [bleep]ed. I know I’m not a [bleep]ing DS, but I’m one of your teammates.”
“Nice way to talk to everyone, isn’t it,” Gabby concluded quietly.
Twitter agreed with Gabby.
Viewers react to Ryan’s Celebrity SAS outburst
“Ryan’s trying to establish himself as an alpha,” said one. Another viewer added: “Someone needs to tell Toadboy to [bleep] off.” A third commented: “How to win friends and influence people, by Toadfish.” Another added: “Day one of SAS and the Neighbours dude, no idea who he is, is already [bleep]ing me off. Hope he’s removed.”
Others predicted that the outburst will do him no favours when it comes to future work offers. “I can’t see Ryan Toadfish getting much acting work after this performance,” said one.
Hopefully he redeems himself tonight…
