Celebrity Traitors star Mark Bonnar describes BBC show as 'very, very nuts' and a 'rollercoaster'
The Scottish actor had to dig his own grave last nightMark Bonnar has described his stint on The Celebrity Traitors as a “rollercoaster” journey, warning viewers it will get “very, very nuts”.
The Scottish actor made his debut in the BBC show last night and was seen digging his own grave, getting sweaty in the first mission and learning his fate; Traitor or Faithful?
Mark, 56, has now spoken about his time on the show, which he has said was a “proper joy” to film. He has also thanked host Claudia Winkleman and the show’s cast and crew, while hinting at how wild the series will get.
With just an hour before the first episode of Celebrity Traitors aired, Mark wrote on Instagram: “Ahead of the rollercoaster that is #thecelebritytraitors getting to the top of its first drop tonight, I wanted to say thank you and pay tribute to the huge team that work on this amazing show.
“The wondrous welfare team, superb sound dept, gorgeous camera crew, and the incredible art dept topped off with the majestic @claudiawinkle all make this show one of the best there is. It was a proper joy.. Now gird yer loins…. Let the games begin.”
In a second post, Mark also warned: “Things are about to get very, very nuts…”
Celebrity Traitors: Mark Bonnar
Mark is starring in The Celebrity Traitors alongside 18 other famous faces. These include Sir Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross, Clare Balding and Celia Imrie.
When chatting in private to Claudia, he made his position clear. Mark told her he would like to be a Faithful.
Claudia honoured Mark’s request and he was spared from Traitor duty. During the first Round Table, Claudia picked Jonathan, Cat Burns and Alan Carr to be her Traitors.
Mark’s Traitors strategy
Mark is optimistic about how he will fare on Celebrity Traitors. He said: “I think what I have is a good ear, I’m good at listening tov people, I’m friendly, I’m personable, I’m fairly perceptive.
“I like to think that I can sense when something’s not quite right and I think I’m a good team player as well. I love being part of a group of people achieving something together – that’s essentially what my job is.”
But Mark says he is unlikely to use his acting skills to play the game – but he hasn’t ruled it out. He added: “I think I’ll bring my people skills into it. I don’t know if I’ll bring my acting skills. Well, I might have to…who knows?”
