Celebs Go Dating fans furious as Gabby Allen's date gives her LIVE pet goldfish as a gift
The poor fish was just sat in a bag on the tableCelebs Go Dating fans are fuming after Gabby Allen was presented with a live goldfish by her date.
Gabby was paired with fishing enthusiast Johnny by the E4 experts and, despite her initial reservations, they headed off to dinner together.
But unbeknown to Gabby, Johnny had got a surprise for her on the way.
When she arrived at the restaurant, the former Love Island star was presented with a goldfish swimming around in a clear plastic bag.
Johnny told Gabby that it was a pet for her.
She seemed taken aback and called the fish “cute”, although fans at home were not as enamoured.

The bizarre scenes played out in last night’s show (Tuesday May 6, 2026), which was the second episode of the new Celebs Go Dating series. Gabby was sent on a date, as was her co-star, MAFS Australia’s Lucinda Light.
Gabby’s date, Johnny, claimed he had “just stopped by the fair” and got her a “little pet goldfish”.

Gabby put her hands to her face in shock as Johnny walked into the restaurant clutching his goldfish in a bag.
“I bet no one has ever fetched you a goldfish in your life,” he told her.
Gabby replied: “Err no. Thank you!”
The pair then had a discussion about what the fish should be called, with Johnny settling on… Little Johnny.
Speaking just t the camera, Gabby said: “I cannot believe he has walked in with a goldfish. It’s definitely an ice-breaker but it’s not the first impression I was looking for.”
The goldfish in the bag was then placed on the bar as they ordered and ate their meals. At the end, Gabby walked out, almost forgetting to take her new fish with her.
Celebs Go Dating fans fume over Gabby’s goldfish
Although it made for interesting viewing, not everyone watching Celebs Go Dating was impressed. In fact, quite a few fans have shared their concerns for Little Johnny online.
Writing on X, one said: “I really hope that goldfish went to a good home… Not impressed. And no paper bag over it to lessen the stress.”
Another added: “I thought that too, it was in there way too long.”
A third wrote: “Oh you bloody [bleep]. Dont bring a pet as a present to a date.”
And someone else asked: “Who brings a goldfish to a date with them?”
It’s safe to assume Gabby will not be going on a second date with Big Johnny. She described their dinner as “a first date like nothing I’ve had before”.
She added: “Moving forward, I’m not sure it’s something I would pursue.”
Meanwhile, viewers worried about Little Johnny will be relieved, as we can confirm that he is alive and well and survived being in the plastic bag for so long.
Gabby can be seen holding a fish tank containing Little Johnny as she heads back to the dating agency tonight. Phew!
