Channique Sterling-Brown has played Dee-Dee Bailey in Coronation Street for three years, but her Weathefield journey is now coming to an end.
This week, Channique shared some career news in an Instagram post, revealing that she’d decided to quit her Corrie role.
With Dee-Dee’s final scenes airing soon, here are all of the details on her departure so far.

Channique Sterling-Brown set to leave Coronation Street as Dee-Dee Bailey
Last week, it was reported that Channique had made the decision to bow out of Coronation Street and leave the soap for new adventures.
At the time, a source told Express.co.uk: “Posters are up around the Corrie set behind the scenes, it is common knowledge that Channique is going, and cast have been informed.”
A source also informed The Sun: “It was Channique’s decision to go and she told bosses some time ago.
“She’s hugely talented and ambitious and the world will be her oyster.”
Explanation for Channique’s soap departure
Channique has revealed that she’s ready for new things after reports revealed she’s looking to ‘pursue new opportunities.’
On Instagram, Channique reflected on her difficult choice to step away from the role.
She wrote: “After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles. Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions.”

Dee-Dee expected exit date
Yesterday (Monday, October 6), the Coronation Street star took to Instagram Stories to share a short clip of herself and co-stars Jason Callender and Ryan Russell.
The trio could be seen in the Rovers, with Christmas decorations peaking through the background.
Channique said: “Last time filming in the local x”

With Channique Sterling-Brown currently filming her final scenes around about now, viewers can expect Dee-Dee’s last scenes on screen to air in around about 6-8 weeks.
This would mean that Dee-Dee is due to leave at the end of November/ start of December. Either way, it will be before the year ends.
The details of Dee-Dee’s exit storyline are yet to have been revealed.
