Alex, 31, came unstuck when 34-year-old Ashley took him home to meet her parents following their engagement.
The former football player found himself being interrogated by Ashley’s divorce lawyer dad Paul in a full-throttle exchange.
Viewers of the Netflix series have struggled to warm to Alex since season 10 dropped last week.
And now they have commended Ashley’s father for “fire roasting” his daughter’s new fiancé.
Love Is Blind’s Alex Henderson grilled by Ashley’s dad
Self-assured Alex found himself floundering in episode 7 of this year’s series of Love Is Blind.
Ashley introduced him to her parents and Paul wasted no time in putting his expert lawyer skills to use. He bombarded Alex with multiple questions about all aspects of his life, including his childhood, jobs and future plans.
But Alex quickly began tripping up.
Alex’s biological father walked out before he was born and he was predominantly raised by his mother and grandparents.
He told Paul his grandfather lived to 67 before he died. He then said his grandfather been married to his grandmother for “50-plus years, 53 years realistically.”
Without missing a beat, Paul instantly realised this didn’t stack up. It would have made Alex’s grandfather 14 when he got married.
He fired back: “It couldn’t have been that long? He was 60-what when he died?”
“No, no. 67. I was told a 50-year marriage from my aunt. I don’t know the specifics That’s what I was told.”
Alex then claimed his grandmother was working as a waitress when his grandad asked for her phone number.
“He was working business, he said, ‘Hey can I get your number?’ When he called, she actually thought it was someone else. She fell in love with his voice over the phone.”
Paul said: “Are you making that up? Look at me right here, are you making it up?”
Alex asked: ‘You vote for Trump?’
Self-proclaimed “professional question asker” Paul then gave Alex a rapid-fire interview about his career.
Alex told him that he’d hoped to be a footballer before moving into finance. He then said he quit his job to go travelling.
Coming under pressure, Alex told Paul is now hopes to “day trade full time”. He also claimed to have multiple job opportunities “set up” in Florida and Arizona.
Paul fired back at him: “How many trades you make a week? You use a broker? Do you have any licenses right now? What’s the price of bitcoin today? You vote for Trump?”
The lawyer then warned: “I always find the answer. I am a professional question asker. I’m studying every bit of you.”
Love Is Blind fans have been quick to share their views on Alex and Paul’s exchange. And they haven’t held back with their frank thoughts.
‘Lying con artist’
Writing on X, one viewer said: “Alex is INSUFFERABLE. He seems like such a manipulative, lying, con artist who thinks everyone has to accommodate to him.
“Everything that comes out of his mouth sounds like a sales pitch and like he’s presenting at a meeting. Get him off my screen.”
Another added: “Genuinely felt like I was watching an Aaron Sorkin film during the back and forth between Ashley’s conservative divorce lawyer dad and fake grifter Alex with the overly prepared answers.”
A third said: “Bruh… Ashley’s dad is FIRE ROASTING Alex at the dinner table LMFAOOOO He KNOWS Alex is full of bullsh*t hahahhaa This is the type of Dad I’m bout to be.”
Someone else has even summarised the entire conversation.
