Coronation Street ITVX scenes see Betsy suffer stroke from non-fatal strangulation
Betsy suffered two strokes
Coronation Street ITVX scenes today (Wednesday, July 15), saw teen Betsy Swain get rushed to hospital while suffering two strokes.
Ryan Connor found Betsy unconscious in the kitchen at No.6 and called for an ambulance.
The cause of Betsy’s condition was then worked out by medical professionals as Lisa pointed the finger at Dylan.

With Ryan finding Betsy in a bad way at home, the teen was soon taken to hospital for an MRI and other tests.
It was then confirmed that Betsy had suffered a stroke. She was slurring her words and admitted to her mum that she was scared.
While Dylan was then given a moment alone with his girlfriend, Betsy suffered another stroke. The doctor then asked to speak to Betsy alone before analysing her recent scans.
Lisa and Carla anxiously waited for updates, with Lisa worrying about her daughter’s future. Ryan tried to reassure Lisa that Betsy would get through this and pick herself back up again, but it would take time.
With all of this chaos going on at the hospital, Dylan headed back to the Street to fetch Betsy some bits and pieces. He had no idea what he was about to return back to the hospital to though.
Betsy strangled during consensual sex
The doctor sat down with Betsy and revealed that there head been a strain on an artery in her neck. She wanted to know if any pressure had been applied to Betsy’s neck, even just for a few seconds. It didn’t have to have been hard.
Betsy initially said no but then thought back a previous night. She and Dylan had been on a date. She’d made him a spaghetti bolognese as they talked about her future in London.
After dessert, they then ‘danced together.’ But, it turned out that Betsy was actually referring to sleeping with Dylan and had jumbled up her words.
She revealed that Dylan had lightly choked her in bed, but it was consensual. He didn’t know that it could cause any harm. She thought that ‘everyone did it.’
Lisa was horrified, telling Betsy that this sexual act was extremely dangerous. It had caused a blood clot to form due to a temporary loss of circulation.
Betsy tried to insist that Dylan ‘didn’t know’ what he was doing, but Lisa was desperate to blame him. When Dylan returned with Betsy’s things, Ryan quickly sent him packing.
Lisa caught sight of Dylan and threatened to ‘choke him’ just like he’d done to her daughter. Dylan was stunned as he realised that he was actually to blame for Betsy’s condition.
