As Steve dumps Cassie after drink spiking, here's all you need to know about Cassie's exit next week
Steve and Cassie are over
Coronation Street tonight (Friday, July 31), saw Steve McDonald break up with Cassie Plummer after Tracy’s recent hospital dash.
Steve found the empty packet of medication that Cassie had left out and soon realised that she was behind Tracy’s drink spiking.
With Steve ending his relationship with Cassie, Cassie will exit Weatherfield next week. Here’s all you need to know!
Steve dumped Cassie
Today in Weatherfield, Tracy Barlow woke up in the hospital after her recent drink spiking. The doctors told her that she’d suffered a codeine overdose.
Steve asked Tracy if she’d taken the medication, but she insisted that she hadn’t. Steve then went back home and discovered an empty packet of medication in Cassie’s cardigan.
He then worked it all out and realised that Cassie must’ve been up to her old tricks again, especially with Tracy suggesting that Cassie could’ve spiked her drink. Of course, they didn’t have any idea that Ross was the person who gave Tracy the contaminated drink.
Steve confronted Cassie who explained that she wasn’t intending for Tracy to have the drink. She just wanted Ross to fail his pee test at work and leave Weatherfield.
Cassie was then forced to tell Tyrone the truth too. And, Tyrone made it clear that he wanted Cassie gone.
Later on, Cassie knocked on Steve’s door and apologised for the trouble she’d caused.
Steve wasn’t in the forgiving mood though and told Cassie that their chance of happiness was over. He wanted nothing to do with her anymore. They were over.
Cassie heading for dangerous Coronation Street exit on Monday
Next week’s Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed that Cassie Plummer will be exiting the soap on Monday (August 3), as Claire Sweeney’s final scenes air.
With Cassie burning a lot of bridges and unable to get her family to see Ross for who he truly is, she bags herself a job on a cruise ship. But, this doesn’t mean that she’s escaping danger.
With Steve ending their relationship and Tyrone forcing her out, Cassie finds herself at rock bottom. After a whisky-fuelled breakdown, she reveals she’s planning to leave Weatherfield and work on a cruise ship, sharing emotional farewells with those closest to her.
But before she can make her escape, Ross offers her a lift and locks the doors. As Ross’ suspicious behaviour leaves Steve questioning what he’s really up to, fans are left wondering whether Cassie’s exit could turn deadly. What fate awaits her?

Betsy returned home
Betsy returned home after her recent stroke and sat with her loved ones in the garden. However, overprotective Lisa was getting on Lauren's nerves.
Inside the house, Betsy was upset when she spotted a welcome leaflet from the fashion college. She asked Lisa to inform them that she wouldn't be attending.
Debbie went tee-total
Debbie enjoyed having some drinks with her mates in Sally's garden. However, she accused Tim of 'perving' on them, forgetting who he was.
She then vowed to never drink again so that she'd remember things as much as she could.
Nina got it wrong
Nina accused Sienna of stealing her pay packet as Sienna bit back and accused her of being a jealous ex.
Asha then found Nina's pay packet in a drawer, furious that she'd blamed Sienna.
