Coronation Street star Channique Sterling-Brown 'leaving' Dee-Dee role after three years
Actress reportedly wants to pursue other venturesCoronation Street favourite Channique Sterling-Brown is to leave her role as the beloved Dee-Dee Bailey after three years on the ITV soap.
Reports have begun circulating today that the actress wants to pursue other projects.

Coronation Street star Channique Sterling-Brown set for Weatherfield exit?
A source told The Sun of the actress’s rumoured departure: “It was Channique’s decision to go and she told bosses some time ago.
“She’s hugely talented and ambitious and the world will be her oyster.”
Coronation Street declined to comment (which is a fair indicator that the reports are sadly true).
Dee-Dee arrived in Weatherfield in 2022, and viewers immediately warmed to the character who was simultaneously an amazing lawyer and incredibly ditzy in personality.
Soon at the centre of big storylines, Dee-Dee fell for the apparently charming Joel Deering, who turned out to be an out-and-out wrong ‘un.
She gave birth to Joel’s baby Laila in traumatic circumstances then gave her up to be adopted by her brother James. She then had a change of heart, deciding to raise her little girl herself.
Dee-Dee has recently appeared to be back on track, having even started dating again but red flags are now beginning to appear where new man Ollie is concerned.

Coronation Street cast ‘exodus’
There has been a spate of exits from Coronation Street of late – just last night, Jenny Bradley made her final appearance on screen, with actress Sally Ann Matthews saying goodbye to a role she has played on and off for almost four decades.
This June, Sue Cleaver abandoned her long-standing character Eileen Grimshaw as the Coronation Street resident headed to Thailand for a more adventurous life following the death of her sister, Julie.
In May this year, Charlotte Jordan who had been at the heart of the soap as Daisy Midgeley, left Weatherfield in a cab. Also that month, loveable copper Craig Tinker suffered a fatal attack in the line of duty.
This followed the exit of long-serving character Yasmeen Nazir in March.
And actor Daniel Brocklebank will reportedly leave Corrie as Billy Mayhew before the year is out.
