Maggie Driscoll could soon be exposed as a secret killer on Coronation Street, with whispers of a dark crime buried deep in her past, long before she ever arrived in Weatherfield.

As hints about her murky history start to surface, fans are beginning to ask the big question: Has Maggie been hiding a deadly secret all along?

Social media is buzzing with theories, and if the speculation turns out to be true, the revelation could rewrite the Street’s history. One thing’s for sure, Maggie’s not the woman everyone thought she was.

Maggie Driscoll’s dark secret in Coronation Street

Maggie Driscoll burst onto the cobbles just weeks ago, making an unforgettable entrance by revealing she was the real owner of the Rovers Return. Her son Ben may have signed the papers, but it was Maggie’s money behind the deal.

Eager to step into the landlady role herself, Maggie quickly clashed with daughter-in-law Eva Price. Though she eventually let Eva keep the title, it came with strings attached. Maggie would still be calling the shots from behind the scenes.

Since then, tensions have simmered between the two women, with frequent disagreements over how the pub should be run.

But it was a recent visit to the Barlows that really got viewers talking. Maggie asked to borrow a punch bowl, but when Amy went to fetch it, Maggie took a peek in the cupboard and her reaction said it all. She looked visibly shaken, then quickly masked her alarm. Whatever she saw, it clearly rattled her.

Now fans are wondering what exactly did Maggie find… and what is she hiding?

The Sun has now revealed that a special flashback episode is set to reveal that Maggie’s a secret killer. And, she was responsible for killing off a key character before she turned up onto the Street.

A source said: “When viewers see whose death Maggie was behind it will really send shockwaves through Weatherfield and life will never quite be the same again for her.

“The killing happened prior to her moving into the Rovers Return with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, and none of them will be aware of it.

“But it will all come out in a bombshell storyline leading up to the festive season.”

But, could this have anything to do with what she found at the Barlows?

Fan theory fears Maggie and Deirdre murder twist

A jaw-dropping new fan theory has emerged suggesting that Maggie Driscoll may have played a sinister role in the death of Street icon Deirdre Barlow. According to the speculation, Maggie only realised her eerie connection to the Barlows while rummaging through their home in search of a bowl.

Deirdre’s off-screen death in 2015 was attributed to a brain aneurysm, following the real-life passing of actress Anne Kirkbride. But now, fans are questioning whether that was the whole story.

One viewer theorised: “I think there’s gotta be a twist that Maggie might have been involved with Deirdre’s death and someone possibly Tracy will soon go berserk after finding out the truth that Deirdre was murdered and Maggie did it and go against the Driscolls.”

It’s a chilling thought. Was Deirdre Maggie’s victim all along? Or, did she kill someone else entirely?
