Coronation Street fans predict heartbreaking alcoholism storyline for Todd as his family worry about his 'self-destructive' behaviour

It’s been a horrendous lot of months for Todd, as he suffered horrific abuse at the hands of his partner, Theo. And once his friends and family worked out what happened, it wasn’t long before Theo was murdered – by Sarah.
Todd took some time away from the cobbles to come to terms with everything he had gone through. But now that he’s back, Coronation Street fans have been left fearing he’s heading for a downward spiral.
Todd is pushing everyone away in Coronation Street
For the last few episodes, Todd has been drunk, and going out partying every single night. But every time someone who cares about him reminds him that it won’t help, Todd just simply ignores them. Or he’s mean to them, acting like he doesn’t need anyone to be there for him.
Not only that, but he has also been purposefully trying to hurt his friends. Todd knew Glenda was going on a date with Fraser, but didn’t want them to get their shot, so he hijacked the date.
He told Fraser that Glenda was unwell, and so the pair actually headed back to his house. Only, the timing couldn’t have been worse as Glenda arrived back just as they walked downstairs.
This naturally made all of his family and friends even more concerned. And the way he didn’t seem to care, started making Coronation Street viewers wonder if Todd is headed for another downfall.
Fans fear he’s headed for an alcoholism storyline
Taking to social media, fans debated what would happen next with Todd. And many of them believe he may be headed towards an alcohol storyline.
One commented: “I can definitely see a Todd alcoholic storyline coming soon.” Another agreed: “I thought that too”.
“Has Todd not been through enough with the whole Theo saga?” a third asked.
A fourth Corrie fan added: “I think it’s going to be like Billy’s alcoholic storyline.”
“They are definitely going down a self-destructive path for Todd. He’s drinking too much, and having random sex. And now he’s snapping at the people who care about him,” an upset fan added.
However, there are a few fans who aren’t surprised by Todd’s behaviour, as years ago, this was exactly what he was like.
On X, one fan commented: “Todd is literally reverting back to his old ways. This is exactly how he used to be.”
Another commented: “If you haven’t watched Corrie for years, particularly between the years of 2011 – 2015, go on YouTube and give Todd a look. You’ll see how he has been recently really isn’t out of character for him.”
