Coronation Street fans were left widely unimpressed by the exit of Cassie following Monday’s episode. However, many believe she didn’t actually leave – but instead was murdered.

For a while, Corrie fans have been wondering how the amazing Claire Sweeney would depart the soap. But in the end, it seems it was actually quite a disappointing ending for fans. Instead of answers, they just ended up with even more questions.

However, after a telling sign from new bad-guy Ross, many believe Cassie’s exit was more permanent than anyone was made to believe. And they even have worked out which character may be prominent in discovering the truth.

What happened to Cassie in Coronation Street?

Cassie has had a difficult few weeks on the cobbles, as nasty Ross Wilkes arrived.

After Tracy ended up in hospital due to Cassie’s plans to get rid of Ross, everyone in her family started to turn their back on her.

However, after Tyrone made it clear he wasn’t on Cassie’s side, she decided to leave the street. But as Cassie waited on Steve, Ross pulled up and offered her a lift.

In the car, he admitted that he spiked Tracy to get rid of her, and that he knew she was 15 when he slept each other. But when Cassie told him she could go to the police, Ross locked the doors and sped off.

Later, Ross returned to the street, and acted surprised that Cassie had left – and then ominously pulled out a photograph Fiz had given Cassie.

So, now with fans believing Ross has killed her, they suspect the storyline has a long way to go.

Fans believe someone will find out the truth

The exit didn’t go down to well with fans, as many believed that after three years, Cassie deserved a better send-off.

One penned: “So, Cassie’s just dead then?”

Another added: “This Cassie exit story is trash and makes zero sense. They saw how torn up she was and still treat her this way?”

“This has really upset me. I didn’t want her to die. Such an awful exit for Cassie, and a vile story to watch”, a third commented.

A fourth penned: “So Ross has killed Cassie? I really hope we haven’t lost the amazing Claire Sweeney for good. She’s been brilliant as Cassie. I loved her and Steve together.”

However, the open-ended exit left fans with burning questions – is Cassie dead? And who will discover the truth about Ross?

Taking to social media, fans speculated on who will cause his downfall, and many of them think it will be Fiz.

One penned: “I reckon Fiz has a gut feeling about Ross. She knows first-hand about nasty blokes like him after being with John Stape.”

Another added: “Fiz is the only one with a braincell in this house. Since she thinks Ross is capable of hurting Cassie, she better keep him away from the kids. I am sick of everyone letting him into their lives.”

“I have a feeling Fiz is onto Ross. She knows something isn’t right”, a third added.
