Coronation Street actress announces arrival of baby daughter
Melissa Johns, best known to Coronation Street fans for her portrayal of Imogen Pascoe, has delighted followers with some heartwarming personal news. The actress, who appeared in the ITV soap between 2017 and 2019, played Imogen in a storyline that saw her romantically involved with Kate Connor.
Their relationship stirred up emotional tension on the cobbles, particularly for Rana Habeeb. Her jealousy eventually led to her confessing her own feelings for Kate – a pivotal moment in the show’s LGBTQ+ narrative.
Now, away from the drama of Weatherfield, Melissa is celebrating a new chapter in her real life. On Tuesday (November 11), she announced the arrival of her first child – a baby girl – in a joyful Instagram post.
The actress shared two beautiful black-and-white photos with her followers. The first offered a sweet glimpse of her daughter’s tiny feet poking out from a Moses basket, capturing the tenderness of those early newborn moments.
The second image showed Melissa and her husband, Dan Hampton-Johns, walking through the hospital together, cradling their new arrival as they began their journey home as a family of three.
Messages of love and congratulations quickly poured in from fans and fellow soap stars alike, all celebrating the couple’s new arrival and this exciting milestone in Melissa’s life.
She captioned the adorable post: “Our baby girl is here. We can’t take our eyes off of you.”
This news comes after the actress initially announced her pregnancy back in June in a beach video on social media.
At the time, she shared: “Oh Baby. We made a wish and it came true… Baby H-J – we can’t wait to meet you. Forever grateful.”
