Ellie Taylor to 'become new Strictly It Takes Two host' following Fleur East 'axe'
She previously competed with JohannesEllie Taylor is reportedly set to become the new host of Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two.
The comedian and former contestant is said to have agreed a deal as part of a wider shake-up at the BBC programme. It comes after Fleur East was reportedly axed from It Takes Two ahead of the 2026 series.
However, Ellie’s appointment has not been officially confirmed. A Strictly spokesperson told TV Guide: “We don’t comment on speculation.”

Why Ellie Taylor is reportedly in line for It Takes Two
According to The Sun, producers believe Ellie could bring fresh energy to the sister show.
An unnamed source claimed Ellie was popular with viewers during her time as a contestant and that her personality also impressed senior members of the production team. The source alleged that bosses felt It Takes Two needed a significant revamp.
Ellie competed on Strictly in 2022 and was partnered with Johannes Radebe. They finished the competition in seventh place.
The report also claimed that Ellie featured in conversations when producers were choosing replacements for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on the main show. Those roles ultimately went to Johannes, Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe.
Although Ellie missed out on that presenting job, she reportedly remained a favourite among the production team and has now been lined up for It Takes Two.

Ellie previously shared her Strictly hosting hopes
Before the new main-show presenters were announced, Ellie made no secret of her interest in a Strictly role.
She told the Mirror last November: “I don’t think there is anyone in light entertainment who’d say no. It’ll be such an honour for whoever gets those jobs.”
She then joked that she would change her appearance if it helped her chances. “I’ll happily cut myself a fringe if they need me to. Or dye my hair blonde. Whatever it takes, I’ll do it,” Ellie added.
Ellie also confirmed she had remained in contact with Johannes following their time together in the ballroom.
What has the BBC said about the new It Takes Two host?
The reported appointment follows Janette Manrara’s confirmed exit from the Strictly franchise, amid a period of major change for both It Takes Two and the main programme.
For now, though, the BBC’s refusal to comment means Ellie’s new job remains a report rather than a confirmed announcement. Viewers will have to wait for the corporation to reveal its official plans for the spin-off.
