Yes please! Emma Willis backed by Strictly pros to be new host, and we are so here for it
We would love this!Strictly Come Dancing is facing a huge shake-up this year, as for the first time in 21 years, there will be a new host.
Currently, it is unknown who will be the new faces of the show. But there has been quite a lot of speculation over the last few months. Last October, Tess and Claudia shocked the world by revealing they were stepping down from the hosting job, ready for something new.
But now, it appears Strictly’s own stars have their thoughts on who should be fronting the show – and we already see the vision.
Could Emma Willis be the new Strictly host?
While Emma’s name hasn’t been in the mix a lot, it seems those actually associated with Strictly are eyeing her for the role.
Strictly pros Carlos Gu and Amy Dowden have both separately been asked who they think should be the host. And both of them want Emma.
Speaking to The Mirror, Carlos admitted: “Emma Willis would be a great host for Strictly. And she is actually a huge fan of the show as well.”
Then in a completely separate interview, Amy was asked the same question. And she had the exact same answer. She told The Mirror: “I would personally go for Emma Willis. She is a fantastic broadcaster, a huge fan of the show. And she is passionate about dance, just like Tess and Claudia.”
So, with two pros on Team Emma, could that be a sign of something to come? We certainly hope so as Emma would be absolutely amazing as the Strictly host!
While she has not been asked publicly about the hosting gig, Emma has previously revealed she would happily take part on the show.
Speaking previously to The Sun, the TV presenter admitted: “If I had time, I would do it in a heartbeat. I absolutely love it.” So, the big question is does Emma have the time, and would she host the show? Only time will tell!
Who else is in the running?
However, there are plenty of names in the running to be the new host of Strictly, so Emma may have a lot of competition on her hands.
Some reports have suggested Holly Willoughby could be set to make a TV comeback by presenting the dancing show, alongside Strictly’s very own Anton Du Beke.
Other rumours suggest The One Show host Alex Jones could be stepping up to the role. And also The Chase’s Bradley Walsh – although he has previously denied these claims.
However, two people who are definitely out of the running are best pals Alan Carr and Amanda Holden. They confirmed they didn’t want the job.
We’re still months away from Strictly starting up again, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the new host was announced quite early. Fans need some time to adjust to the changes!
