Emmerdale and Coronation Street cancelled again tonight, here’s when you can watch them next
Fans will be upset yet againEmmerdale and Coronation Street fans face more bad news as both soaps have been pulled from the ITV schedule tonight (Wednesday August 12).
Throughout all of July, ITV were airing some World Cup coverage, and soap fans were forced to miss out on new episodes. However, when the World Cup ended, many thought things would finally be back to normal.
But over the last two weeks, this hasn’t been the case. And once again, fans are disappointed that they will be missing more soap content.
Why are Emmerdale and Coronation Street not on tonight? When will they be back?
Both Emmerdale and Coronation Street will not be on tonight, and it’s once again because of football.
Usually, Emmerdale would air at 8pm, with Coronation Street following at 8.30pm, ever since the soap ‘power hour’ began this year.
However, instead of the soaps airing on ITV at that time tonight, the channel will be showing the Manchester United vs Leeds United match. The pre-season friendly football match will kick-off at 7.30pm.
For a while soap fans have been asking for ITV to still release the episodes to ITVX and YouTube, like they do everyday at 7am. That way fans could still get their fix of SoapLand. However, this has not yet happened.
Thankfully, we don’t have that long to wait until the soaps are back. Both Emmerdale and Coronation Street will be back in their usual time-slots on ITV from tomorrow night (Thursday August 13). However, we can’t promise more shake-ups won’t be coming soon.
What’s coming up in the soaps?
It’s currently quite busy on both soaps at the moment, as the summer drama is far from over.
In Emmerdale, fans have just witnessed Dr Todd’s brutal murder, at the hands of Sarah Sugden. However, not wanting her grand-daughter to go down, Charity took full responsibility for everything.
So, Thursday’s episode will of course see the continuation of this storyline, with spoilers actually remaining tight lipped on what will happen next.
Meanwhile, over on Coronation Street, they have their own murder storyline happening as Sarah Platt remains in prison for killing Theo.
Sarah also just broke things off with Kit, who is about to struggle to look after her kids. In Thursday’s ep, Bethany and Kit agree it’s best if he stays living in the house. But when he tells Harry he can’t look after him, the youngster lashes out.
