Last week, viewers met Tim’s cousin Richie, played by ex-Hollyoaks star Nathan Sussex. Immediately Tim and Richie bonded over their past, and tried to get to know the men they are now.
However, things took a dark turn when Tim went to check on Richie and found his wife, Rachel dead in the kitchen. The storyline marks the start of a huge one for Tim and Sally which will test them in many ways.

Tim and Sally were shocked at Richie’s murder arrest
In tonight’s episode (Tues, August 11), Tim was left reeling when Lisa informed him that Richie had been charged with Rachel’s murder.
Tim helped Lisa’s investigation, by revealing that Richie had opened up to him about his marital problems, and how he seemed scared of Rachel. So, when Lisa told him he’s pleading self defence, Tim is adamant that’s what happened.
News very quickly spreads throughout the street that Tim’s newest family member is a murderer. And Tracy even wondered if being abusive runs in his family!
But Tim remained determined that Richie must’ve been forced to defend himself, as the person he knew wouldn’t murder his wife in cold blood.
One of the main things Sally and Tim were concerned about though was Richie’s daughter, Lucy, who had just lost both of her parents.
Lisa told them that she is safe, and was sent to an emergency foster care family while the investigation is ongoing. But soon enough, Lucy arrives to Coronation Street.

Lucy is about to arrive to Coronation Street
When Lucy’s foster care family falls through, Tim decides that she can come live with them – without checking with Sally.
But Coronation Street spoilers reveal that this one decision could bring quite a lot of trouble to their door, as Lucy is clearly struggling.
The traumatised youngster struggles to settle in and runs away. Tim and Sally are left wondering if they’ve taken on more than they can handle.
Life with Lucy proves anything but easy as Sally and Tim struggle to cope with their new arrival. Lucy is left shaken by a terrifying nightmare. Tensions rise when Tim blames Sally, insisting Rachel would still be alive if Richie had been allowed to stay.
Later, things take another worrying turn when Lily finds Lucy alone in Victoria Garden. After Lily calls her a freak, Lucy lashes out by grabbing her arm, forcing Jodie to step in.
Speaking about the storyline recently, Kate Brooks revealed: “It’s a bit of a curveball. And it comes from slightly left field. But it absolutely upends their lives. It’s how they navigate that situation going forward.”
