Charity and Mack’s relationship drama

It’s been a long and complicated journey for Charity and Mack in Emmerdale, literally since they first met.

However, things took an even crazier turn when Charity cheated on her husband with Ross. And while she was determined to keep it a secret, that became tricky when she discovered she was pregnant – with Ross’ baby.

So, instead, she agreed to be a surrogate for Sarah and Jacob, never telling them the truth about who was the real parents of her child. Somehow, she got the whole way through the pregnancy without the secret coming out. However, when Dr Todd found out, things took a dark turn.

Charity was then sexually assaulted by Todd, and finally found the courage to tell her husband everything. Mack was shocked and heartbroken, but was determined to help her get justice.

But now, with Dr Todd dead, and Charity taking the fall for her murder, Emmerdale fans are convinced the soap is about to split her and Mack up.

Why are Emmerdale fans convinced they’re going to split?

Charity was arrested for the murder of Dr Todd – even though the real killer is Sarah. And during the aftermath, Cain and Chas were immediately called, while Jacob headed straight to the station to wait on his wife. One person who was missing though was Charity’s own husband, Mack.

On top of that, Mack actor Lawrence Robb has just been announced as a Strictly 2026 contestant. With how much rehearsals there are for that, it’s assumed that Mack may be off our screens for a while – or will have a reduced screen-time.

One fan penned on Reddit: “With Mack likely leaving the show for a few months, will Charity and him break up? Or could there be another love triangle on the horizon?”

Another agreed that a split is inevitable, and even believes Charity will reunite with her ex Vanessa. They wrote: “It’s obvious at this point it will be Charity and Vanessa again.”

“I think they will split for a while. He may need to get his head together. I mean, he seems to have forgiven her pretty quickly. I know he loves his wife, but when this all blows up he might finally crack. They need some time apart” another added.

However, another fan seems convinced that if the couple split, it would only be temporary. And that they would find their way back together.

They commented: “If they do separate, I don’t think it would last. I think what is most likely is that the whole baby secret and Sarah reveal will blow up in her face and he may leave the village for a little while to get away with it.”
