It’s been a turbulent few months for Emmerdale’s Dawn Fletcher, but viewers have noticed something unusual amid the drama — the apparent disappearance of her youngest child, baby Evan.

Fans have been quick to point out that Evan hasn’t been seen or mentioned in recent episodes, despite previously being at the heart of one of Dawn and Billy Fletcher’s most emotional storylines.

Evan’s difficult start in life in Emmerdale

Evan Fletcher was born on December 21, 2023, named after Billy’s late father. Although he is only approaching his second birthday, Evan has already faced significant health challenges.

When he was just four months old, Dawn and Billy were devastated to discover unexplained bruising on their son. Doctors diagnosed him with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The family then entered isolation to protect him during his treatment.

By Christmas 2024, Evan was declared an outpatient and began the road to recovery, though regular hospital visits continued.

The strain of Evan’s illness placed heavy pressure on Dawn and Billy’s marriage. The couple eventually separated after Dawn’s affair with Joe Tate.

The last time viewers saw Evan was in May 2025, when he was rushed to hospital with a high temperature. Fortunately, he recovered and returned home shortly after.

Evan’s absence raises questions

Since then, Evan has not been seen on screen, and the show has not referenced his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Dawn’s other children, Clemmie and Lucas, have taken centre stage in a major storyline.

Recently, Clemmie was questioned by police after she sent an indecent image to Carl Holliday. He then shared it among friends. Although the authorities have decided not to take further action, the incident has had a lasting impact on the families involved.

However, Evan’s absence from these family scenes has not gone unnoticed by viewers. Despite Dawn managing her new business, Take A Vow, and regularly discussing Clemmie and Lucas, her youngest child hasn’t been mentioned.

Viewers share their concern

Fans have taken to social media to express confusion and concern over Evan’s disappearance.

One viewer asked: “Has Evan been adopted? When was the last time we saw him or even heard his name?” Another wondered if they had missed an explanation: “Erm, have I missed something? Where is little Evan?”

Others echoed the same sentiment, posting messages such as “Where is Dawn’s baby?” and “When was the last time Evan was even mentioned?”

This isn’t the first time Emmerdale has faced questions about missing or unseen children. Long-time viewers may remember similar discussions about Elliot Windsor’s on-screen absence.

As Dawn’s storylines continue to unfold, fans will be hoping Evan’s whereabouts are soon addressed — and that the little boy who’s already endured so much will make a return to screens before long.
