Rhona and April furiously clashed in Emmerdale tonight
On Friday (October 3) April was trying to do damage control following brother Leo’s overdose. He had taken pills she had accidentally dropped and the police and social services were involved.
But if April had any ideas of telling the police before now, they were long gone after Celia’s threats against her and her family. April knew she had to keep quiet and Dylan and Ray coached her as much.
April played the struggling teen who just couldn’t get things right. As she explained everything to the social worker, she poured all the blame onto Rhona and Marlon. April claimed to feeling under pressure from her parents because Rhona is a superstar vet and Marlon is an amazing chef and she couldn’t ever live up to it.
Rhona overheard her lies and went mad. April tried to say she lied to keep the social worker happy, but Rhona wasn’t having it. Marlon tried to keep the peace, but Rhona couldn’t even be in the same room as her stepdaughter.
Eventually April suggested she should move out for a few weeks and Rhona agreed straightaway. Marlon wasn’t happy about the idea and is desperate to talk his wife round.
But April already has a place to stay – after Ray texted her saying he has somewhere for her. But moving in with Ray puts her even further under his control…

By Monday it is absolutely clear Rhona does not want April living with them. But Marlon doesn’t want his daughter to move out, knowing last time it resulted in her sleeping on the streets and being missing for months.
April is determined it’s the right thing to do despite Marlon’s fears it will isolate her more. She tells Ray she will take up his offer of a room and packs her bags.
However when Bob spots her at the bus stop with her things, he insists she move into the B&B instead. It is a relief for April who can now put more distance between her and Ray.
Though Ray is fuming about it, so Celia steps in and talks to Rhona. Celia overhears Rhona discussing it all with Moira and puts in her two pennies’ worth. She tells Rhona she is going the right thing in making April leave.
Celia’s comment bolster Rhona’s courage in her convictions and it also serves to keep the wedge between April and her family firmly in place.
And with Bob still making eyes at Celia, will he become her next target so she can isolate April completely?
