Robert’s secret prison past finally comes to light in Emmerdale spoilers preview
In Tuesday’s episode (November 11), now streaming on ITVX, Robert dropped a bombshell on Aaron. He admitted he hadn’t been completely honest about his time behind bars. While Aaron believed he’d served his sentence on the Isle of Wight, Robert revealed he’d later been transferred back to Hotten.

On Wednesday, we head back in time as Robert opens up about his six years in prison. Flashbacks show just how hard life behind bars really was. Kev stepped in when Robert hit rock bottom, but their bond ran deeper than anyone realised.
Just what else has Robert been hiding?

Ryan Hawley teases ‘twist’ in prison flashback scenes
Speaking about the episode, Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert, said: “The flashback begins around five years ago. We go through different time periods right up until May of this year, just before Robert is let out and interrupts Aaron and John’s wedding.”
He then teased a twist, revealing: “There’s one particularly nice little twist. Neither me nor Chris knew about it until we read the script. Something happened in prison that is massively pivotal. No one finds out about it until it’s revealed here.
“At first I thought it might be more interesting to leave Robert’s prison past to the imagination,” Ryan added. “But it was definitely worth doing because it explains a lot about Robert and Kev’s relationship. Some interesting things are sewn in the flashback episode that potentially takes the story forward.”
