Grey’s Anatomy actor Eric Dane has died age of 53, less than a year after announcing he had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Last year, Eric was diagnosed with ALS. Over the past few months, he raised awareness for the most common form of motor neurone disease (MND).

According to the NHS, MND “causes muscle weakness that gets worse over a few months or years”. Treatment can help manage the symptoms. However, it is typically life-shortening with no cure, currently.
