Gogglebox pays tribute to producer Jonathan Clough following his death as Channel 4 show returns for new series
The first episode of the new series ended with a tribute to its producer
Gogglebox returned for a new series last night, but she show ended on a sad note with a tribute to producer Jonathan Clough.
The Channel 4 show was back for its 27th series last night (February 6).
Jenny and Lee, Giles and Mary and Pete and Sophie were all back on the box, in the week that co-star Helena Worthington revealed she’d welcomed her second baby.
But at the end of the show, a tribute appeared on screen as the Channel 4 series remembered one of its producers, who sadly died at the end of last year following a battle with brain cancer.

Gogglebox tribute to Jonathan Clough
At the end of last night’s show, a tribute to Jonathan appeared on screen.
An image of the producer was displayed, alongside the words: “In memory of Jonathan Clough. 1989 – 2025.”
Jonathan was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma in 2024, at the age of 35. A GoFundMe page was set up to help Jonathan access specialised treatment. And, paying tribute to his friend, actor Sam Swainsbury said that it had helped him see his daughter’s first day at school.
“The help and support that poured out was overwhelming. It made an ENORMOUS difference. And opened up so many doors that were previously locked shut. He saw his daughter’s first day at school and made it to her first play.”
The post added: “He then made it to Christmas and sadly passed on Boxing Day. He fought for every last second and exceeded all expectations. He was extraordinary. I don’t have many more words than that. I still can’t believe it. But thank you,” he posted.
As well as working on Gogglebox, Jonathan’s other TV credits included Strictly Come Dancing and The Apprentice.
Kevin Clifton’s tribute
Last month, former Strictly Come Dancing pro Kevin Clifton was among those paying tribute to Jonathan. Jonathan worked on the BBC show as a producer during Kevin’s time on the BBC ballroom series.
Kevin shared a picture of Jonathan and one of the two men together. He captioned his post: “An amazing friend, an amazing man, an amazing father and a heck of a fighter for his amazing family. I will miss you forever.”
