'Absolutely unhinged!' Traitors fans blast Harriet as they work out real reason she threw herself under the bus

Her new book is out next month…

Harriet Tyce was banished from The Traitors castle last night, in spectacular scenes that got everyone talking.

In an extraordinary outburst at breakfast, she accused Rachel of being a Traitor and said she’d be going for her at the roundtable later that night.

However, what followed that evening appeared to many as Harriet throwing herself under the bus. But why? The Traitors viewers reckon they’ve worked it out…

Harriet banished from The Traitors after ‘unhinged’ outburst

During the roundtable, Harriet laid out her evidence against Rachel. However, in something of a U-turn, she then urged her fellow players to banish her. Harriet reckoned that, by doing so, they would see that she was a Faithful, and then that would – somehow – show them Rachel was a Traitor.

Harriet – a successful crime writer, who’s pals with Richard Osman – got her wish as the votes poured in and she was banished. But why did she throw herself under the bus, in the hope of exposing Rachel?

Some viewers were baffled by her behaviour. One said: “Did Harriet have an appointment to get home for or something? I’m absolutely baffled at this play and exit.”

Others reckon they know why she did it…

‘She didn’t need the money’

“She wanted a big exit and more publicity for books with a big blow up?” questioned one.

Another quipped: “Writing deadline.” A third said: “She didn’t need to stay to the end for the money as she’s a successful author. So she was able to go out on a high with her integrity intact. Also, she probably couldn’t put up with those dopes any longer.”

Another added: “Maybe she wanted to promote her new book coming out soon? If so job done.” Another viewer agreed: “Perfectly timed publicity before the release of her new book.”

Others were a bit more angry…

“Harriet ruining Traitors by only caring about her book sales and not the money as a Faithful winner,” one blasted. “It makes it a pointless game if people don’t care about winning and just sacrifice themselves to earn the book sale over prize money.”

Harriet absolutely unhinged at the end there,” said another. “She clearly only cared about her book sales. It ruined the game!”

Harriet Tyce’s books

Sales of Harriet’s books have soared by 95% since she first appeared in the castle.

She’s had four books published so far – Blood Orange, The Lies You Told, It Ends At Midnight and A Lesson in Cruelty. Her fifth, Witch Trial, is out on February 26.

“Perfect timing for the new book release,” sniffed another Traitors viewer. “Cares more about her books than the game. Well done Harriet,” another added.
