Heated Rivalry finale: What time Episode 6 is out and how to watch it
If you want to watch the Heated Rivalry finale in the UK, you'll need to do two things
Heated Rivalry ends tomorrow, and if you can’t wait for Episode 6 (or you still don’t know how to watch it in the UK), here’s exactly what time it drops and the steps you need to take to stream it.
It may not be listed on our best TV shows of 2025, but Heated Rivalry has been a bona fide sensation. The steamy hockey drama, based on Rachel Reid’s novels, has already been renewed for a second season – even though it’s barely been released outside the US and Canada.
According to HBO Max (which is launching in the UK in 2026), it’s been the second-biggest driver of first-time viewers on the streaming platform since its release. After the first episode premiered, viewership rocketed by over 400% within a week.
And, yet, it’s not officially available in the UK… yet. So if you want to watch Heated Rivalry episode 6, read on.
Heated Rivalry episode 6 release date and time
Heated Rivalry episode 6 will be released at 5am GMT on December 26. If you’re in the US and Canada, it’ll drop at 9pm PT/12am ET.
Unfortunately, this will be the final episode of the first season. However, it hopefully won’t be long until season 2 gets filmed and released.
“Watching our show become an international phenomenon has been extraordinary,” creator Jacob Tierney and executive producer Brendan Brady said in a statement (via TV Line).
“We’re profoundly grateful to everyone that has been on this journey with us. Being renewed for a second season so early is a true honor, and we can’t wait to bring you even more of what you love.”
How to stream Heated Rivalry in the UK
Heated Rivalry won’t be officially available in the UK until it drops on NOW TV on January 10, 2026. In the meantime, you’ll need to use a VPN.
A VPN (virtual private network) hides your IP address and adds an extra layer of security while you’re online.
More importantly, it lets you change your location to access geo-blocked content. If a show is only available on Netflix US, for example, you just switch your VPN to anywhere in North America and hit play.
Heated Rivalry is currently streaming on two platforms: Crave in Canada and HBO Max. Once your VPN is set to Canada or North America, you’re good to go.
The downside? Neither Crave nor HBO Max offer free trials. Crave does have a free ad-supported tier, but Heated Rivalry isn’t included. In short, you’ll need a paid subscription.
What will happen in the finale?
Thanks to the episode 6 synopsis, we know “Shane and Ilya [will] get away from the spotlight for a rare moment of freedom”.
“But when the outside world intrudes, they have to face some tough decisions that could change everything about their future and what it means to build a life together,” it adds.
According to Connor Storrie, the finale will be pretty close to how Reid’s novel plays out.
“I can only think of one difference in it and I don’t think it matters at all,” the star teased to Decider.
“I think it’s very, very true to the book. That’s my favorite episode, personally. That’s my favourite part of the entire thing.”
