How to watch George Michael: The Faith Tour as once-lost film of the music legend is brought back to life

George Michael fans are in for the ultimate treat following the announcement of a new and never seen before film of the music icon.

The late music legend takes centre stage in George Michael: The Faith Tour in footage captured in 1988.

Shot over two nights during George’s European leg, the videos have been painstakingly restored and remastered into one feature-length movie.

But how and when can you watch it? Here’s what we know.

George Michael: The Faith Tour announced

Music bosses dropped the announcement of George Michael: The Faith Tour on Tuesday March 10, 2026.

A statement George Michael Entertainment said: “Shot at the iconic Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during the European leg of the Faith Tour in 1988, the film captures a turning point that transformed George Michael from a global superstar into a singular, era-defining artist, whose influence continues to reverberate across music, fashion, and culture today.

“George Michael: The Faith Tour invites audiences to experience the tour as it was meant to be seen and heard.”

George was just 24 years old when he embarked on his Faith Tour. It marked the moment that he stepped into his new era as a successful solo artist.

The footage was captured over two nights during his string of shows at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, which has since been renamed Accor Arena. But it was later lost for years.

Thankfully, after eventually being discovered, filmmakers have worked tirelessly to bring it back to life. Fans are promised it will give an “intimate yet explosive glimpse of an artist in complete command of his voice  and stagecraft”.

George Michael: The Faith Tour trailer leaves fans in tears

The film will be released later this year and a trailer has now dropped. The teaser is taken from the opening of George’s show.

As the crowd screams loudly, the music starts to play. The word ‘Faith’ is then illuminated as a backdrop to the stage. The screaming intensifies “George Michael: The Faith Tour” appears on screen.

The trailer has now been shared on YouTube and George Michael fans have gone absolutely wild.

One commented: “If it’s a full concert this is massively significant. There aren’t many artists from that 1980s pop icon era that have concerts shot entirely on film. This is George at his peak as well. Incredibly excited.”

Another added: “I’m about to cry, my dream is finally coming true.” A third penned: “This is the entertainment news of the year!!! I can’t wait, GEORGE is my absolute favourite artist ever.”

And someone else wrote: “Pinch Me!! I’m in shock and tears! This is the George Michael news we’ve been waiting so long for.”

How can I watch George Michael: The Faith Tour?

George Michael: The Faith Tour will be released in cinemas worldwide. Music bosses are yet to give an exact release date, however they have confirmed it will be coming in 2026.

Fans will also be desperate to know whether they can watch it on the small screen too. It’s not been announced whether a streaming service will also snap it up, although it is highly likely.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour landed in cinemas in 2023. By the following year, it was available to watch on Disney+. Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé was also released in cinemas before moving to Prime Video.

Korean pop band BTS also opted for a cinema release of Break the Silence: The Movie. It was later available to stream on Prime and Apple TV.

This is huge news for fans of George, who tragically died aged 53 on Christmas Day in 2016. As soon as a release date is confirmed, we will let you know.
