Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is coming to cinemas before its Netflix release – but you may need to be lucky, as the movie isn’t showing in every chain.

It’s been over four years since the ambiguous, divisive ending of Peaky Blinders season 6.

This month, Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby in The Immortal Man, Steven Knight’s highly anticipated, big-screen continuation of the story. This time, Tommy will need to contend with the Second World War. That means enemy German forces… and his son, Duke (played by Barry Keoghan).

If you’re among the millions dying to watch it, you probably want to know when it’s out on Netflix. However, there’s another way to watch Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

When and where is Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man in cinemas?

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will be available to watch in these cinema chains in the UK from March 6, 2026:

  • Showcase
  • Picturehouse
  • Everyman
  • The Light
  • Movie House

According to Netflix, it’ll be screening in “select” venues. So, if you live near any independent cinemas, it’s worth checking their upcoming showtimes to see if they’re showing the Peaky Blinders movie.

Why isn’t it on at Odeon, Vue, or Cineworld?

Excluding Cineworld’s Dublin venue, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man isn’t screening at Odeon, Cineworld, or Vue.

These are arguably the three biggest theatrical chains in the UK, and Peaky Blinders is enormously popular. Why wouldn’t they want to screen it?

In short, films usually get a 45-day theatrical window. That means it’s over six weeks before a movie becomes available digitally, incentivising people to buy cinema tickets rather than wait to watch it at home.

However, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is coming to Netflix just two weeks after its limited release in cinemas. So, it’s a matter of principle: why would they agree to a theatrical window that undercuts themselves?

There have been extremely few exceptions over the years. Glass Onion, the second Knives Out movie, screened in Cineworld and Vue chains. It’s also been a point of concern amid Warner Bros’ negotiations with Netflix and Paramount, with exhibitors fearing Netflix would attempt to collapse the window.

While this could change in the future, don’t expect many Netflix movies in the major UK cinema chains.

When is Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man on Netflix?

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will be available on Netflix from March 20, 2026.

It’ll drop on the streaming platform in all of its territories on the same day. So, wherever you are, and whether or not you managed to catch it in cinemas, you’ll be able to stream it.

It’s worth remembering that while Peaky Blinders is a BBC drama, Netflix own its international rights.

Speaking to Netflix, Murphy said: “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”

What is the Peaky Blinders movie about?

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man takes place four years after the season 6 finale, with Tommy Shelby resurfacing and returning to Birmingham in the Second World War.

“Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet,” the synopsis reads.

With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground.”

According to Knight, The Immortal Man will be “explosive”.

“The country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders… no holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war,” he said.

Alongside Shelby and Sophie Rundle reprising her role as Ada, Keoghan plays his son, Duke. As Keoghan told Empire, Duke will be “up to no good” when we meet him in the movie.

“That’s a boy, just looking for his father. Being a father myself, I really did relate to Duke, because there’s this cry for his father and this cry for the figure that he needs to be there,” he explained.
