'I think she's the Secret Traitor': TV's Richard Osman shares secret connection to Traitors 2026 star Harriet
All will be revealed when the Secret Traitor is uncloaked tonight
Richard Osman has weighed in on the question on everyone’s lips – who is The Traitors’ Secret Traitor?
That little nugget of information will be revealed tonight at 8pm (January 7), as the Secret Traitor joins the remaining two Traitors – Rachel and Stephen – in the Traitors’ turret.
Their identity remains a mystery until the episode goes out – unless you were one of the few who saw the episode when it was mistakenly uploaded to iPlayer, that is.
But TV’s Richard Osman revealed on his The Rest is Entertainment podcast this week that not only is he pals with one of the 2026 contestants, he also suspects she’s underneath that infamous red cloak.
Richard Osman uncloaks Secret Traitor?
The House of Games host, who is also the best-selling author behind the Thursday Murder Club books, admitted that he knows one of the current stars of the show.
Speaking on the podcast, he revealed: “I think the Secret Traitor may be Harriet. I was delighted to see her in there.”
He then opened up about how he knew Traitors star Harriet from the crime-writing circuit. “Harriet [Tyce] is a million-selling author, like a real-deal big name crime author – and brilliant as well.
“She wasn’t in the first episode much, I don’t think I saw a single VT, and she’s quite a compelling character. That’s the first time I’ve seen in the non-celebrity version someone who I sort of know,” he also said.
Not only that, but Harriet is also a former barrister. So she’d certainly have the skills needed when it came to fronting it out as the show’s Secret Traitor.
‘I’d love Harriet to be the Secret Traitor’
But it’s not just Richard who was surprised to see Harriet on the line-up – her crime-loving fans couldn’t believe their eyes either.
One commented on social media: “They’ve got the actual Harriet Tyce on Traitors UK! Any other crime fiction lovers absolutely losing their mind over this?! LOVE her books, she’s going to smash this.”
A second agreed and also said: “Just realised I have read two of Harriet from The Traitors‘ books. One very clever lady and talented author. I would love her to be the Secret Traitor!”
Harriet’s novels include Blood Orange, The Lies You Told and Witch Trail, which is published next month.
The Traitors tonight
Tonight on The Traitors, the Secret Traitor will finally be uncloaked.
The mystery person will head to the Traitors’ turret early in the episode. Once there, they’ll reveal their identity to the two remaining Traitors – Stephen and Rachel – and join their murderous team.
