I'm A Celebrity fans divided by Aitch and Shona McGarty's 'weird' age gap as pair 'flirt non-stop'
Aitch and Shona McGarty aren't as close in age as you may think...
I’m A Celebrity may have a blossoming jungle romance between Aitch and Shona McGarty, but viewers have been left split over their age gap.
It all started when Aitch revealed to Angry Ginge that he has a “soft spot” for the EastEnders star.
Since then, fans have been paying extra attention to everything they do. For example, it’s been speculated that he purposely lost the Rivals challenge so he could be in Doomsville with McGarty.
So, will they get together? That remains to be seen, but some viewers can’t get past the age gap between them.
Aitch and Shona McGarty age gap revealed amid I’m A Celebrity ‘romance’
Aitch is 25 years old, whereas Shona McGarty is 34. That’s a nine-year age gap – and, according to some viewers, that’s too much.
“The age gap between Shona and Aitch is weird I’m sorry,” one fan wrote on X, with another posting: “Not getting them go on about Shona and Aitch, he’s way too young for her.”
“I reckon if they got together on the outside, the age gap would be more judged,” a third wrote.

A fourth wrote: “Shona’s a bit old for Aitch and besides, he’s got a girlfriend, so stop hoping something romantic is going to happen!”
That last bit actually isn’t true: as reported by The Mirror, “things ended amicably” between the rapper and his ex (believed to be Lois Cottam, a psychology student from Cheshire) before the show started.
Also, McGarty had been engaged to Irish musician David Bracken, but they have reportedly split up.

Not every fan is against Aitch and Shona’s age gap. On Facebook, one viewer said “nobody would bat an eyelid” if the age gap was reversed.
“Nine years is nothing. If there’s a spark, then go for it,” another commented.
“What’s age if there’s chemistry and common interests,” a third wrote, with a fourth adding: “Is it just me or is there SO much tension between Aitch and Shona they should just get it over with and neck on.”
As one user pointed out, there’s been “non-stop flirting” between them. This also comes after they had a pillow fight in Doomsville, and Aitch wrapped his legs around McGarty’s back. “Why are your legs so strong?” she asked him, laughing.
Dec also noted how the campmates were “getting cosy”, and Ant remarked: “Well, some of them are.”
If they were to get together, they already have McGarty’s sister’s support (she even said he could come for Christmas dinner).
Via Culpan, Aitch’s manager, told The Sun that it might be more of a “brother-sister relationship”, but added: “They’re both nice people, so I’m not sure.”
