I’m A Celebrity star Frankie Bridge admits she would return to show after taking part in Welsh series

The Loose Women star has a hankering for the proper jungle…

Frankie Bridge was the “last woman standing” on the 2021 series of I’m A Celebrity – finishing in third place behind winner Danny Miller – and it seems she might not be done with the jungle just yet.

During a fan Q&A on her Instagram Stories earlier today (December 10), one follower wrote: “Hope you’re well, you were amazing on I’m A Celebrity.”

Frankie replied by posting a throwback snap from one of her most memorable Bushtucker Trials, showing her completely surrounded by snakes. And alongside the picture came a little hint that she could be tempted back into camp someday…

Why Frankie Bridge would consider going back on I’m A Celebrity

As Frankie mentioned in her post, the 2021 series of I’m A Celebrity was a little different. Usually, the show is filmed at Dungay Creek in Australia, near the Queensland border.

However, the 2020 and 2021 editions were filmed in Gwrych Castle in Wales. This is because of travel uncertainty related to the COVID-19 pandemic at the time.

The singer and Loose Women presenter wrote: “Thank you! I loved that I was the last standing woman! I honestly had such a good time. It’s so tough, but so many good memories!

“The only thing I’d say is I did the castle so I’d be closer to the boys [Frankie has two young sons]. But now I feel I didn’t get the full @imacelebrity experience, so dare I say I’d love to do it again! Preferably minus the spiders!”

While it’s too late for her to appear in the upcoming All Stars series (which was filmed in September), we have our fingers crossed she may sign up for season 3.

Other former contestants yearn for the jungle

Frankie isn’t the only former campmate who feels they didn’t quite get the full I’m A Celebrity experience. Jordan North – who took part in the 2020 series, filmed in Wales due to the pandemic – has been equally honest about feeling short-changed by the castle edition.

Chatting to Vick Hope on BBC Radio 1, Jordan didn’t sugar-coat it. “I think the castle is totally different to the jungle. I think it is harder, I really do,” he said. “In the jungle, you can sit around in the sun all day when you are not doing much. The jungle is a beautiful environment.”

Wales, however, was another story entirely. “I am not saying Wales isn’t beautiful but that castle is cold. It is cold, it is damp, it is dark. It was awful. I think it is a lot harder,” he continued.

“I think it is a bit more sinister – the trials feel more dark, more sinister.”

Between Frankie hinting at a return and Jordan’s brutal honesty about castle life, it’s clear the show leaves its mark… just not always in the way contestants expect.

I’m A Celebrity All Stars location

I’m A Celebrity: All Stars took the survival show somewhere completely new. Instead of returning to Australia or hunkering back down in the Welsh castle, ITV jetted stars off to South Africa.

The series was filmed in the stunning – but seriously unforgiving – Kruger National Park. Unlike the usual jungle setup, this location offered something the show had never truly leaned into before: real, raw wilderness. Think scorching heat, dramatic cliffs, open plains and wildlife that definitely wasn’t separated by a convenient fence.

ITV chose South Africa partly because the All Stars spin-off needed a fresh identity. This wasn’t meant to feel like another series. It was a celebration of the most iconic campmates, so the backdrop had to match their legacy. The environment also allowed producers to design bigger, more dangerous trials. It made the competition feel tougher and more unpredictable than ever.

And, of course, filming in South Africa meant the show could escape the strict time constraints and seasonal clashes that come with filming in Australia.

So while the jungle will always be home, All Stars proved there’s a whole world out there for I’m A Celebrity.
