With multiple storylines involving secrets and lies currently running in the village, Liam – as the local GP – finds himself in a situation where new information places him in a difficult position. So what will he do?
Secrets plaguing Emmerdale village
There’s a lot going on in the village at the moment when it comes to keeping things hidden!
Robert is preparing to renew his vows with Kev despite not truly wanting to continue the marriage. His feelings remain with Aaron, and his primary motivation for staying with Kev is to care for him during his final months (and get his money!) Kev, however, appears unaware of any of this – or at least he’s doing a good job of pretending he is.
Charity is also concealing the true circumstances of her pregnancy. Although she has lied to Sarah and Jacob that the baby she is carrying is their implanted embryo, she actually conceived after a one-night stand with Ross Barton.
Chas is the only person she has confided in. As both a doctor and Chas’ fiancé, Liam is in a prime position to encounter something that could reveal the truth.

Emmerdale spoilers reveal shock secret exposed to Liam
Tonight’s episode centres on the day of Robert and Kev’s vow renewal. Aaron is struggling after urging Robert not to continue with the ceremony. He believes Robert has made his choice until Victoria shows him Robert’s vows, prompting Aaron to reconsider.
He immediately goes to see Robert, and the pair end up back together. Robert decides as a result to cancel the vow renewal.
However, Kev does not turn up to the church because he has been taken to the hospital again. Experiencing heart-related symptoms, he confides in Liam that he has not been taking his medication so he will be able to perform on his wedding night.
Kev demands Liam does not tell Robert where he is, leaving Liam conflicted between ethical duty and personal knowledge of the wider situation.
Meanwhile, Charity faces questions from Sarah about why she was at the hospital the day before. Charity quickly fabricates an explanation, and Sarah appears to believe her for the moment.
By the end of the episode, the ITVX early release confirms that Liam discovers something significant – although the nature of the revelation will be kept underwraps by us until the ITV episode has aired.
The discovery is definitely explosive and potentially able to change everything. With Liam unable to share the information due to doctor–patient confidentiality, the question now becomes how he will manage what he knows and what the consequences may be.
