Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix met with mixed reception as she reveals why she left the group
Jesy is facing backlashJesy Nelson is facing backlash after viewers tuned into her Prime Video docuseries, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix.
The six-part series follows Jesy as she prepares to welcome twins, documenting her experience of a high-risk pregnancy with complete honesty. However, she also documents the hardships growing up and while a member of Little Mix.

Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix
In the fifth episode, Jesy opened up about her decision to leave Little Mix in 2020.
Despite being the first to call it quits, Jesy recalled being called in for a meeting with her fellow members — Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock — where they were told another member had enough of the group and wanted to leave.
“I just remember feeling like my whole world had fell apart,” she admitted, stating that she and Jade were crying over the news.
Jesy was asked to reveal which member, but said she wouldn’t say as she felt it wasn’t her place to. “Devastated” by the situation, she said she probably didn’t handle the situation well.
“I could really, in that moment, maybe give her the understanding and the support she needed,” Jesy explained.
“That sounds really selfish because, obviously, that person was really feeling and going through something,” she added, telling herself that she needed to “mentally prepare” herself for the group to end.
Why Jesy Nelson left Little Mix
Little Mix would plan their final tour following the news. However, when the coronavirus pandemic hit, their tour was postponed, and when Jesy said things “got messy”.
After spending time in lockdown, Jesy realised she was able to let go and take time out of her grueling schedule.
Even though she was aware that the band was going to end, Jesy was “dreading” returning to work. With a bikini-themed video for their single Holiday scheduled, Jesy admitted she searched for ways of how she could lose a stone in five days.
When it came down to the day of the shoot, Jesy said she was “struggling the whole day”.
“That was the straw that broke the camel’s back, doing that video. It brought everything back before going into lockdown,” Jesy’s friend revealed.
As she was asked why she left the group, Jesy stated their final tour would take place in 2022, following COVID restrictions.
While working on their talent show, Little Mix: The Search, she said the atmosphere changed. Jesy felt a “rush of anxiety” that she didn’t feel whilst in lockdown and started to suffer with panic attacks again.
As a result, she decided to leave before their final tour. “Listen, everyone is going to have their version of this story. I can only speak my truth about how I felt in this situation,” she began.
“I basically sat everyone down and said how I was feeling, and I just felt like no one cared,” Jesy continued, claiming that one of the members said: “Are you done now? Can I go now?”
She said she felt “alone” and that no one cared. Hitting rock bottom, Jesy was rushed to hospital after attempting suicide for a second time.

‘I didn’t feel like they were my sisters’
When Jesy tried to get back in contact with the group to talk things out, she was told by her manager that they would only do it on the terms that there was a therapist in the room with everyone.
“I’ve just come out of hospital, this is the time I need you the most,” a shocked Jesy said.
Her mum insisted the other members were not there for her when she was at their lowest.
“I didn’t feel like they were my sisters. It’s been five years now, and every time I think about it, I’m like, ‘Is it them? Or is it the management?'”
When they did talk on the phone, she said it was “uncomfortable” and like she was “talking to strangers”. Jesy said it was the last time they spoke as a group.
‘She didn’t address any of the problematic things she did’
Despite having a tough time in the group, Jesy has been hit with backlash following the episodes.
“All the [bleep] I’m seeing about Jesy’s documentary. Will this woman ever shut the hell up and keep Little Mix’s name out of her mouth since she didn’t want to be associated w them???” one user wrote on X.
“Tired of people acting like only Jesy’s mental health matters. What about Leigh-Anne was bullied postpartum with twins & who faced years of racism or Perrie who has serious anxiety that she couldn’t even leave the house or Jade who had an ED and also struggled with body image,” another person shared.
“Jesy created the documentary just to throw the Little Mix girls under the bus and portray herself as the victim. She didn’t address any of the problematic things she did, she still doesn’t understand what the real problem is. She is a pathological liar,” a third remarked.
“I was gonna give it shot, but nope. Just lied on top of excuses on top of zero accountability,” a fourth said.

‘It’s only fair she tells her side of the story too’
Meanwhile, many have come to Jesy’s defense.
“I’m sorry if you still hate on Jesy after this, you’re not ok. Just move on now, please and let the four girls be at peace,” one said.
“The other three have spoken about Jesy since she left, it’s only fair she tells her side of the story too,” another declared.
“Why is she getting hate over this? I don’t understand,” a third expressed.
