Heidi – who appears on The Princess Diaries today (March 8) – was born in 2007. She is Kerry’s third child.
With former Westlife star Brian McFadden, Kerry had two daughters, Molly and Lilly-Sue, born in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Then, along came Heidi in 2007 and son Max in 2008. She then welcomed Dylan-Jorge, or DJ, with the late George Kay in 2014.
But who did Kerry have Heidi with? And why did Kerry admit that cheating on him was ‘the best thing she did’? Here’s everything we know about Heidi Katona’s father…
Heidi Katona’s dad Mark
Kerry married taxi driver Mark Croft on Valentine’s Day in 2007. That same year, she gave birth to daughter Heidi, followed by son Maxwell in 2008. However, in 2011, the pair ended things.
During her marriage to Mark, Kerry saw her fortune dwindle to the point where she was declared bankrupt, and she also had a cocaine addiction, as MailOnline reported.
She said: “I hated my life. I’d lie in bed for three days in a row doing cocaine with Mark. We did coke in our en suite and had a lock on the door. The kids knew if the bathroom door was locked they mustn’t come in.”
Kerry says ‘cheating on Mark was best thing I ever did’
Meanwhile, in 2023, Kerry admitted that cheating on Mark with ex Royal Marine Kevin Greent was “the best thing I ever did”.
She said on Slingo’s Getting Lippy Gossip Show: “I had an affair myself when I was with Mark Croft and it was the best thing that I ever did. We were both married we both fell madly in love with each other he did leave his wife for a little bit but for me that just… it saved my life.”
Before marrying Mark, Kerry was married to Brian McFadden from 2002 to 2006. She was then married to the late George Kay from 2014 to 2017.
Speaking to GB News, said: “I have loved and I’ve often ended up marrying them, bearing in mind I was only 18 when I met Brian and we were together for seven years when Brian left me.
“With Mark I though, oh my god my kids are from a broken home. And I was trying to fulfil my dream as a broken child, and not so much what they needed but not realising that I was enough for my kids. And I thought I need to get married and Mark asked me to marry him and I said yes.
“I thought that will fix everything, that will fix the problem, I thought I’ll get married. I’ll have some more kids and I’ll try and fix what’s been broken. And that’s a pattern that I continued to do. I did it with my third husband too, and I had another amazing child as well.”
Princess and Heidi’s friendship
Growing up with a famous parent, Heidi is good pals with Princess Andre, daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre. Heidi even makes an appearance on Princess’ upcoming ITV show.
“You’ll see Heidi and Kerry, so there are some new faces. People will love to see my relationship with Heidi because we just bounce off each other. We’ve gone through similar life experiences, so I feel naturally closer to her,” Princess recently told MailOnline.
She added: “I’ve known her since I was a baby – we’ve always been around each other. Our friendship is real, and we talk about things that people will probably want to know about.”
