Love Is Blind‘s Victor St. John has relived the terrifying moment his stepdad attacked his mum as he opened up on the Netflix show.

Victor has found himself bonding with fellow Love Is Blind hopeful Christine Hamilton about their childhood traumas in the first episode of the new series.

Christine, 31, had also experienced a rough time growing up and was happy to swap tragic stories with the 34-year-old professor.

Love Is Blind’s Victor St. John relives his childhood

Victor found himself being honest with Christine in the first episode of Love Is Blind series 10, which has just dropped onto Netflix.

The pair giggled as they shared stories of being caught with cannabis as teenagers. But then suddenly, the chat became more serious.

Victor told Christine about the shocking moment he saw his stepdad physically attacking his mum at home when he was a child.

Sitting behind the screen in his pod, Victor said of his stepdad: “He always had an alcohol problem. I didn’t think too much of it.

“Then I remember one night, I heard fighting or something coming from an other room.

“My mom cricked open the door and I remember seeing a hand grab her hair. And then the door closed.

“It was one of the scariest things I’ve seen in my life. I was young, I didn’t know what to do.”

Heartbreakingly, Victor admits he felt “weak”, as he was “the only boy in the house.”

Christine looks tearful as Victor explains how he woke up his sister, who confronted their stepdad.

Thankfully, the monster left the house and didn’t come back. Victor says his mum has now “healed”, but admits the incident caused him to go a little wayward in his teens.

Christine Hamilton’s dad trauma

Christine also found herself reliving her own traumatic childhood while chatting to Victor in the pod.

She revealed a terrible incident that took place when she was 10, which saw her being told to hide her dad’s drugs from the police.

Christine, a speech-language pathologist, admitted to Victor: “My dad was not the best dad when I was little.

“One of my prevalent memories, when I was 10 or so.. We were driving home from somewhere and I remember him swerving. He was falling asleep or something.

“Someone called it in to the police. When we got pulled over, my dad gave me a pill bottle to hide.”

Christine reflected that it is “sad”, as her father’s actions meant he missed out on hers and her sister’s childhoods.

Victor asked Christine if she’s ever forgiven him. She replied: “I don’t know. Which probably means I haven’t.”

Victor and Christine get engaged

It’s fair to say Victor and Christine have fully bonded with each other – as they are the first Love Is Blind 2026 couple to get engaged!

Just one episode in and Victor has already popped the question through the screen of the pod. They exchanged “I love yous”, before Victor asked Christine to marry him.

Christine read a prayer out loud and then Victor got down on one knee. He told his new love: “I can’t see you but I see you. Christine Louise Hamilton, will you marry me?”

Smiling, she replied: “Of course I will!”

The couple agreed it is “just the beginning” before heading back to the Men’s and Ladies Quarters and sharing the good news with their new pals.

Their engagement means Victor and Christine will now get to see each other for the first time. Eek!
