'Final straw' MAFS Australia fans have just unfollowed Danny Hewitt after he made a joke about gaslighting and skipped the final show
Danny has faced a lot of backlashMAFS Australia fans have been left disappointed yet again by groom Danny Hewitt, after he made jokes about “gaslighting”.
Over the last few months, Bec and Danny had been in quite a turbulent relationship. But while she fell head over heels for the Englishman, he kept his cards closer to his chest.
While he would tell Bec that he was falling in love with her, his actions proved otherwise. And when they’re relationship hit the dead-end, fans saw a completely different side to Danny.

What did Danny say about gaslighters after his disgusting comments about Bec?
Following MAFS Australia, Danny has been posting quite frequently on social media. But his latest post didn’t go down too well for fans.
He posted a video of himself at dinner, pretending to be on a date. But the caption was clearly mocking those who have been gaslit by their relationships.
The caption read: “When she’s telling me how bad her ex gaslit her, but it lowkey sounds like we would be homies.”

The uproar of backlash for this specific post comes as Danny failed to show up to the final MAFS Australia episode. Over the last few months, he had been leading Bec on, making her believe he was actually in love with her. But at the Final Vows, he completely blindsided her when he dumped her.
While Danny did attend the reunion Dinner Party, after things kicked off because of his messages to Steph, he did not attend the Commitment Ceremony.
However, during the After The Dinner Party Show, Bec and Steph were shown comments Danny had made about them, which may have been why he didn’t want to show up. He has since apologised for those disgusting comments.

MAFS Australia fans turn against Danny as he didn’t show up
However, fans didn’t find his latest ‘joke’ funny, and instead decided to cut ties with him online.
Taking to the comments of his Instagram, fans expressed: “But you’re a gaslighter as well…”
Another wrote: “Final straw for the unfollow!” while another added: “Didn’t you say you didn’t want the social media fame?”
“Bec was gaslit by you,” another commented. An angry fan penned: “Your five minutes of fame will be up soon.”
Another wrote: “Personally you should let the dust settle a bit before you start digging yourself in a deeper hole. Give people a chance to heal first.”
So, it seems Danny still has a long way to go before any fans are willing to forgive his actions.
